Is elstgomeric patching compound L410 Smooth used as a paint primer?
Elastomeric patching compounds are flexible compounds that are used to repair cracks in stucco and masonry surfaces. The flexibility is the key to making them hold up over time and not crack again as they can withstand expansion and contraction to a higher extent than a non-flexible patch. The L410 smooth is sold as a two-in-one product, a patch and primer. It is latex (water-based). If you have water stains, they will bleed through a latex primer and you should consider using an oil-based primer in such a case.
