quality and yes reputation is very important
They all work in conjunction with each other. You must be diligent in your efforts as a home owner to check to see if the contractor you are considering is Licensed and insured first. Secondly check out there references to include a visit to them to actually see the quality of the contractors work. If they have satisfied there client it should be a problem. I try and get permission from all my clients to do so. Third even if all that checks out you must establish a rapport with your contractor. Most likely you will be dealing with them for a period of time, especially if doing a compete bath or kitchen remodel. So good luck to you in making the correct choice, could make all the difference in the total experience for you both. Best of luck to you.
There’s nothing more important than a good reputation! Quality and craftsmanship go hand in hand. As far as pricing goes, as the old adage says, you get what you pay for. Although, there are some contractors out there who have prices that are out of this world! The basic rule of thumb is, go with a medium price range contractor, but, make sure you get enough estimates to see if you can find two estimates that fall in line with each other. Don’t let a few extra dollars get in the way of you getting the best job possible!
As a builder, we would have to say that all of the above are equally important. Craftsmanship and the quality of their work will be reflected in their reputation. Pricing will show whether they are making an honest living or are greedy.
Quality craftsmanship leads to a good reputation. I did one job and was referred by my client and got 5 jobs who all refer me to others.
All the things you have listed are very important, Price, Quality, Craftsmanship, when hiring a contractor, looking for these qualities will lead to a beautiful project,
But never go for the cheapest price, going for the contractor in the middle is the best outcome, and yes you get what you pay for so be careful and read the contract and don’t rush it because details matter.
At the end of the day more time spent will equal to more detail taking place and higher the quality stander ed .
Reputation and Quality are must haves. This is your home, something you live in for years to come. You want to make sure that the carpenter you hire listens to his clients and addresses their concerns, while at the same providing quality work that doesn’t just look good but works for the clients as well.
I was taught that their is one universal law to construction. That all customers have three options when hiring a contractor but can only ever have two of the options at one time. They are cheap, good, fast. You can choose good and fast but it sure will not be cheap. You can choose good and cheap but it sure will not be fast. You can choose cheap and fast but the work will not be good. What you choose all depends on your needs and end goals. But obviously if the work you want done is for your home which you plan to live in for a while or for a long term investment such as a commercial building, quality should be your first priority.
