It depends where you are and how much you would like to spend on building the house. We are General Contractors based in NYC and are used to seeing prices ranging anywhere from $100 sq/ft to $475 sq/ft. It all comes down to what kind of finishes you want and the quality of the materials you purchase for the project. It also depends on the amount of experience the contractor has. Obviously, someone who is just starting out new without any references and experience might charge you lesser than someone who has been doing this for many years.
