You need to hire or develop some sales skills in order to close some of the leads you get on the spot, instead of being a bid dropper, spend some time and chat with the customer, educate them on the project, and what you are going to do better than others, and give them a price on the spot. Then, ASK for the business. You will be amazed at how much more you get. In addition to that, advertise in any way possible. I would say the first thing you need to do is advertise. You need have your website, then get your website onto google, then hit the stores, apartment complex’s, adjusters, as well as family member and friends. A lot of business I received at first were all by word of mouth and referrals. After about the first 3 months our name started getting out there. Look on craigslist as well there are always people posting on there looking for someone who can do the job.
