What is the most important room in your home? What is your priority in home remodeling?

I can say that it will vary from client to client. We did 4 remodeling and addition projects this year. Two of our clients added 500 square feet of new master bedroom with 100 square feet walk-in closet. In those two clients one client have master bathroom with 200 square feet.
Our another client gave importance to the 500 square feet of living room with radiant heat flooring, inbuilt speakers, nana walls and fire place. Another client on woodside added 180 square feet of deck on 2nd floor. It totally depends on client.

The Kitchen! Maybe it needs to be updated and you can bring up the value of your home. Or maybe you like to cook and you would like to update it to look good for you and your loved ones. There are many reasons to work on your kitchen. Working with an inadequate amount of counter space, floor space, and storage space in the kitchen can be a frustrating experience. If an appliance, such as the refrigerator, which is opened multiple times throughout the day, is in the wrong location, it can have a real negative impact on how you work. The shape of the counter can also be taking away valuable surface area.

For the majority of family there are two almost certain rooms that have separate and distinct functions

The kitchen which is the heart of the home,. this is the main socializing area of the home ,for many different reasons. social events start in this area and have a comforting effect as friends and family gather for, holidays, birthdays, special events , or just a small gathering of friends.

The second is the bedroom, mainly a master bedroom, as we are now learning , the effects of lack of sleep , has on our health, plays a major role in our long term health. There is something to say when you get to your room at night and the space is one of your favorite places in the home and you get that feeling of peace and tranquility…! You still need to put the hours into your rest…

As you guessed, the majority of homes utilize the kitchen as the main hub, and for this reason it has become a popular space to update, expand, and / or remodel. It is a major priority of ours to never sacrifice quality for anything, and the same goes for the things that are out of our control, for example; appliances, and the finishes. If the home calls for a multi-room remodel we try to focus the bulk of the finances to the kitchen and ultimately the design will showcase that in the end.

Kitchens and bathrooms give you the most bang for the buck. Also tend to be the most expensive and complicated with plumbing and electrical changes often involved.

Changes to other rooms like a bedroom tend to be more simple… paint, new drywall, new light fixture…

As expected, Kitchen is the most important room in the house. As a contractor, I see that most of the clients wants to make their kitchen more open. Now a days kitchen is became more like dining and family room also. Kitchen is the only room in the house where you spend 2 times higher than all the other rooms by expensive cabinets, countertops, backsplash etc…
