What kind of wood is now most popular used on the floors?

White Oak

While this has primarily regional preferences, as true wood goes, White Oak and Brazilian cherry are favorites. However, an equally popular choice, considering its renewable properties, is Bamboo. Given the humidity here in southern Florida, Bamboo proves to be much more resilient and forgiving.

Well if your talking DECKS! its Treated lumber. and if its old Grey treated lumber we can bring it back to life in Springfield and Branson Mo.

Here in Northern Minnesota, your oaks are still really popular but I like a nice Cherry or Bamboo myself. All in all it really comes down to personal preference, remember you will be the one living with it in your house, and any decent installer should put in what the customer wants. Hence old addage customer is right. They have also come a long way in engineered hardwoods as well.

for most of us I would say that the best kind of flooring right now is engineered hardwood flooring where it is durable and clean.

in the northeast we still mainly use red and white oak.

Engineered hardwood Floors - thanks joey @ www.floorhou.com

My answer to this question is there are to types that a person must choose from both look the same but you are stuck picking what is most economical or what you want to spend you have natural wood floors and you have engineered flooring both look the same but are completely different in cost, but a solid wood floor is always a warm way to go in a home because its beauty is hard to match either will give you a natural wood look and will last you a long time.

Base on the number of clients that have asked us to install wood flooring for them, we would say oak is the most popular wood that they choose for their flooring. We find that during spring to summertime the numbers of those who prefer white oak increases slightly and during the fall and winter time red oak gets to be chosen more. Bamboo flooring is also almost as popular with our clients due to its cost and environmental friendly feature. www.custom-hardwood-flooring.com

Red and White Oak is our top seller.

I recommend my customer to use red Oak or Brazilian cherry wood
