What kind of wood should I use to make an attic floor?

My garage has a large space between the rafters and ceiling. I want to put down a “floor” of plywood or something else strong and cheap so that I can use the room for light storage, or even as a guest sleeping space (our house gets crowded during family visits).

What’s the best type of wood to use?

Hi, you can use regular plywood. That will be sufficient for attic floor assuming there is 12" space between the studs.
