Demolition, rough work, inspection, nail drywall, nailing inspection, patch walls and paint, install gloor, cabinets, conntertop and backsplash, plumbing and electrical finishes, final inspection
First thing you should do is to know what design/Look you are going with. make sure you know what style kitchen you are getting including counters backslash floors and lighting. If you are changing your layout make sure that the flow of the new layout is convenient when you are actually using the kitchen. The next phase is demolition, framing if needed, support for new cabinets, plumbing, electric wall board including taping and primer , sub floors if needed, waterproofing, and last is finishes floor tiles, cabinets, counter top, plumbing finishes and last is backslash and painting.
Design a plan. That is always going to be the first step. A project this size will require a permit and plans. Get with a designer or the home owner and discuss what is attempting to be accomplished. After this has been completing and a design is in place, contacting a contractor would be the next step.
Have a budget in mind first of all. Do your layout sketches, pick all the materials you want to use. Verify order lead times for all materials and set a scheduled start date with an anticipated completion date. Start with area prep for dust control and floor protection, do all demolition, framing if necessary for new design. Daily clean up is required. Rough in all plumbing, HVAC and electrical. Replace drywall and baseboard (if base goes behind flooring) paint, set cabinets and call fabricator for countertop templating. Replace flooring and baseboard (if base goes on top), trim electrical HVAC and plumbing as possible, set countertops and finish plumbing trims and any other misc items such as cabinet hardware, touch up paint, etc. Install appliances. Do a final clean as needed. Walk through with client for approval.
