Well cost of material and how long will it take ya to do ? I personally hate … no … Despise painting so have overpaid many times I’m sure . Not sure if i would charge per sq ft or by job . Think as a H/O per Sq Ft price might sound pricey and just bidding entire job complete might sound better .

I charge the amount for up to 8 feet for the 8 feet and lower the from 8 to 12 I charge for that amount and the from 12 to 24 that amount. I do it this way due to insurance company pricing policies. This should give you a start.

It all depends on material cost and amount of time. I typically charge by the day and the cost of materials. Some companies charge by the square foot and that ends up being an astronomical number. You could charge by the hour, but if you do factor in 30% of your money going to taxes. If you think it will take 8 hours for two coats. Add your cost of materials to your hourly rate and add that number by 50% .
Ex. 30$ an hour times 8 hours = 240$ plus materials Ex. 100$ in Materials = 340$ plus half of 340$ = $510 . This will give you an honest days pay, and still be able to pay your taxes at the end of the year.
