What's the recommended minimum ceiling height for residential construction?

I’m hoping to do a vertical addition, but I know the local building code has a height limit. What’s the lowest comfortable ceiling height you’d recommend?

8’-0 ceilings are most common, no less than 7’-6"

8’ is standard, i wouldn’t recommend going lower than that but if needed, you can go down to 7’6".

No less thatn 96 inches

8’ is the standard height and I would not recommend going lower over a large space. If you are able to go up to 9’ it will feel considerably taller and make the room feel larger. Good luck!

Normally it’s 8 feet for the Standard Building some of the buildings are 8 feet and few inches now if you want your house to be impressive you have to do higher ceilings from 9 to 12 that’s the more impressive ceilings the cost difference is not too much but it’s a lot more impressive the minimum head clearance is supposed to be 7 ft
