National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) has local groups and you should be able to obtain a directory through them. First, decide on ALL product / service options. Compile a list of work and quality requirements. Have at least 2 qualified pros complete detailed bids on the work. Use a written contract that ties payment to verifiable results.
There are so many places to find a good contractor. First, ask your neighbors whose made some renovations for them. Stay local - that is usually the most economical. Try facebook and other social media. Of course, try BuildZoom as well.
