Who is responsible for your first in-home meeting with a potential client?

When you are meeting with a potential client for the first time, who is responsible for that first impression? Do you send an in-home salesperson out or do you handle it yourself?

I will be responsible for all in home meetings and future on site evaluations.

I go out on the initial visit with about 90% of my clients. The only time I do not make the initial visit is on the occasions that the home-owner wants someone out immediately, and I cannot always altar my schedule that quickly. In this case I send one of my designers out.

We are a Design & Build firm.

Your company is always responsible for whomever visit the potential client. That being said, you would always want to send someone who is experienced in the type of field your client requested as they would better answer your clients questions. A saleperson in general isn’t a great idea as the way i look at it; reason being, you shouldn’t have to sell yourself to a client as it shows that you are just out to get there money. You would want the client to be comfortable and to trust you.

I handle every interaction with all of my clients. From the first meeting to the final nail, it is my duty to insure each project runs smooth and is completed perfectly.
