Why does BuildZoom scoring algorithm penalize their contractors because of the amount of referrals being turned away?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to use the referral they take interest in and not the one discarded for various reasons, like being too far away, budget being too low, the contractor doesn’t do some type of work or the referral is just a waste of time.

I would suspect that either the contractor needs to update their profile to filter out unwanted leads, or that BZ needs to do that . . . .

David from BuildZoom here. The algorithm doesn’t punish saying no to projects or referals. The only thing it really punishes is saying yes to projects but then not contacting the homeowner, or accepting large numbers of projects and winning none of them.
