I dont understand why someone would pay a contractor for top dollar work to do a specific job and then that contractor takes that top dollar pay and turns around and brings a team of unlicensed & unexperienced workers to do the job that he lowballs because they are not licensed and dont have the experience or equipment to do the job themselves. Usually contractors like this do not even stay on the job to supervise their workers because they are only in it to make money and not ensure the customer gets their job done right. This is a scam as far as im concerned and it takes away from the fundamentals of what a licensed contractor is supposed to be.
To answer the question(s) asked: Hiring the contractor would be to obtain the services of their vendor network and project management experience. With regard to their quality of work or quality control of their vendors…I would say, that is why you don’t pay the PM fee upfront and you keep the bulk of the cost fee until Punch is complete.
