Working under another contractor's license

If a Licensed Contractor want to hire a Oregon Licensed contractor to do some work in Washington how can the Washington contractor put him under his license? Will he have to hire him as an employee, and pay WC and take out taxes on him?

Unfortunately, GC licenses are not legally recognized beyond the state in which it was received. The out of state GC would have to be treated as an employee instated of 1099 individual. The liability to do otherwise is huge on the licensed GC. Hope this helps!

As the homeowner, you must protect yourself, and only hired licensed and insured contractors!
