From a plumbing standpoint I’d have to favor a newer home. We have found through inspections from the inside of the piping that old cast iron pipes are usually on there last leg in homes that are 50 years or older. Or worse on the exterior orangeburg piping (tar paper pipe) or terracotta (clay) piping which is susceptible go easy root intrusion and offsets cause many problems guaranteed.
