On its opening day in July 2014, the 1.2 billion dollar Levi’s Stadium was hailed as one of the most technologically advanced structures of it’s kind, but development didn’t stop there. Since the 49ers’ final game in 2014, at least 56 permits for additional work on the stadium have been pulled, at an estimated value of over 3.2 million dollars. A handful of permits were pulled to build temporary stages for the likes of One Direction and Luke Bryan, but most are in preparation for the 2016 Super Bowl.
All permits for the property can be found on the BuildZoom property page for this address.
To accommodate spectators of the game, Levi’s Stadium has increased its capacity to over 70,000 by adding more than 1,500 seats. Sponsors, such as Verizon, Pepsi and Toyota, can advertise to the audience on new signs, kiosks, charging stations and even oversized helmets.
Many permits focus on providing additional entertainment value to the venue. Fans will be able to enjoy live music at the new band platform on the Bud Light Patio. Kids will appreciate the brand new slide and renovated kids zone. Even the museum and community room have seen some improvements.
More than 20 of the permits are related to electrical work, citing everything from LED signs to media booths and general wiring.
The majority of the work has already been completed, but as of Thursday January 28th 17 permits were still active and can be monitored on the property page for Levi’s Stadium.
