Since our last post, we’ve looked through over 200,000 building permits and put together a handful of our favorite picks for cool construction projects happening across the nation. This week we focus on two categories: old buildings turned breweries and sports-related facilities.

A Historic Granary is Reborn as a Brew Pub

The historic stone mill in Oshkosh, Wisconsin was first constructed in 1883 and since then has seen many reincarnations. It once housed the Granary restaurant, then for a short while was occupied by a night club called Club Element before laying dormant for over 10 years. Thanks in part to city tax incentives, the building will be reborn again into a new brew pub and an office space.

Adidas’s US headquarters, also known as the Adidas Village, is an 11-acre complex in Portland that combines office space with retail stores and athletic facilities. In the spirit of the Olympics, buildings are accented with blue, yellow, black, green, and red colors. The Village has had many small renovations since 2016, but most recently the black building will be undergoing a $4 million remodel to its stadium seating and lower level.
