Built in 2015, 170 Balfour Drive is a 7,000-square-foot Mediterranean-style villa in the exclusive gated community of Bal Harbour Village. It’s a six-bedroom eight-bathroom mansion with soaring ceilings in the living room and kitchen. All guestrooms are large suites, and the master bedroom is enormous with a sauna and hot tub. State-of-the-art smart home technology and a custom elevator were both installed by Accolade.

CDC Builders was founded in 1992 by current President and CEO Jose Ortega, a Key Biscayne resident with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. CDC Builders’ Bay Lane residence in the prestigious Key Biscayne neighborhood is a nod to European design. It has two stories of living spaces with bayviews positioned above a 9,000-square-foot basement and an opulent six-car garage. Truly lavish, the multi-million-dollar build has six bedrooms featuring Sipo mahogany from Africa; the other living spaces are paved with marble. The exterior features columns of Macedonia stone and French barrel tile on the roof.
Another Key Biscayne build, the Harbor Drive residence is a two-story modern residence with tropical design elements. The 9,200-square-foot home is perfectly positioned to take advantage of the Florida weather. Vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows take in the ocean breeze as well as panoramic views of Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables. The home features clean, modern materials such as travertine marble, stainless steel and Brazilian mahogany. Incorporated in 1986, Plaza Construction works across a diverse range of sectors. The company takes on commercial properties, corporate headquarters, healthcare centers, museums, hospitality and residential buildings, and more. Richard Wood and Lester Rivelis lead Plaza Construction, as CEO/President and COO, respectively. Wood started working for Plaza as a field superintendent decades ago, working his way up to president of the company. Rivelis has worked for more than three decades as a construction attorney, and he’s been involved in iconic projects such as the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, Euro Disney in Paris, and Canary Wharf in London. The Canyon Ranch property is a 5,000-square-foot custom apartment with 360-degree beach views, a unit at Miami Beach’s Canyon Ranch. The build required the demolition of three existing units and an entire year of pre-construction planning before the six-month construction phase. A smart home, the family residence features audio and video systems, window treatments, and mechanical systems that can be operated via smart phone.
The modern unit was featured in Luxe Interiors + Design thanks to its high-end material finishes, and because of its exceptional design, which seamlessy integrated it into Canyon Ranch facilities.
7) Newport Property Construction

Founded in the mid 2000s in Miami-Dade county, Newport Property Construction provides construction services for luxury residential work, including expansions and renovations, and mixed-use commercial and office spaces. A Florida state-certified General Contractor, their projects are predominantly located in South Florida, but they have also done builds nationwide. A unique touch, every Newport Construction project is assigned a site project manager who supervises the build and communicates with the client, an approach that earns trust and enables on-time delivery. Architects Choeff + Levy designed a 11,000-sqaure-foot one-story villa for Yankees shortstop Alex Rodriguez. A strikingly modern design, the multi-million-dollar house draws on elements of Californian midcentury modernism and embraces a tropical modernist aesthetic with monochromatic features, concrete expanses, and herringbone-pattern wood floors. The masculine minimalism focuses attention on, and serves as a backdrop to, A-Rod’s collection of contemporary art that features original work by the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. The home has been featured in Architectural Digest.
6) D’Asign Source

The three D’Ascanio brothers sit at the helm of D’Asign Source, a full-service design-build and landscape architecture firm that has been a fixture of the Florida Keys since 1957 when the brothers’ parents founded an ornamental cement business on Grassy Key. Commitment to family and professional growth set D’Asign Source apart from the competition; four members of the next generation are part of the firm, and it has grown to include audiovisual and botanical branches, creating a true one-stop shop for homeowners. With a price tag of $14M, Tarpon Ranch is a 7,000 square-foot waterfront mansion custom built for an avid Florida fisherman. Nestled between mangroves, the canal, and the ocean, D’Asign Source were constrained by the limits of the nearly one-acre lot. Despite that, they were able to fit in a full lap pool with a swim-up bar and the six-bedroom, six-bathroom main house. The pool leads down to a fire pit, sitting area, and sand beach on the shore. To accentuate the front of the house, a circular driveway was added with a water feature displaying a tarpon, a nod to the Florida fishermen. Inside, resort amenities and casual elegance reign supreme. Structured around the spacious kitchen and replete with soaring ceilings and custom beam work, the home’s highlights include a fossil-infused kitchen island countertop, a 500-bottle wine room, and a 10,000-gallon fish tank separating the office from the living room.

Designed by architects Kobi Karp and Reinaldo Borges, Miami Heat star Goran Drajic and international celebrity Enrique Iglesias own the waterfront properties next door to this 11,000-square-foot listing. The mansion features a personal theater, a cutting-edge gym and spa, and an infinity edge pool with color changing waterfall. Perfectly positioned, the six-bed eight-bath home has bay views from every room. 4) Mackle Construction Company

President and owner Frank E. Mackle’s family has been building homes in Florida since 1908. The story of the Mackle family is so bound up with the history of Florida that, from the 1950s to the 1990s, the Mackle Brothers—as they were then known—developed over 20 communities throughout the state, including Key Biscayne, Port St. Lucie, and Deltona. For four generations, they have specialized in providing build services for high-end custom homes as well as a select few commercial projects. A member of the Florida Green Builder Coalition, Frank E. Mackle IV graduated from Notre Dame and earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Miami before returning full-time to general contracting. Designed by Ralph Choeff of architectural firm Choeff + Levy, 6480 Allison Road is a nearly 11,000-square-foot mansion with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms on a half-acre lot on Allison Island. The home features waterfront property, a chef’s kitchen, a theater room, a wine bar, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a 55-foot infinity pool, a poolhouse, and a three-car garage. Currently on the market for nearly $20M, this mammoth custom home is the embodiment of luxury.
The Caleb Trapp House, or the Trapp Homestead, was constructed in 1887 out of local lime and is believed to be the oldest masonry home still in existence in Miami-Dade county. In 2006, architect Richard Heisenbottle, FAIA, drew up plans to restore the main house and create a more modern addition. Fittingly, the Mackle Construction Company were brought on to build out these renovations, and the house now sits on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Brodson Construction is a national contractor based out of South Florida with a satellite office in Chicago. Founded in 1989, Brodson has deep experience in the high-end commercial, restaurant, and residential sectors. Founder and Owner, Barry Brodsky, established Brodson Construction in 1989 with his father Stanley. Despite humble family beginnings, it has grown into a mid-size firm with national reach. Over the years, Brodson has won repeat contracts with big-hitting clients like The Bal Harbour Shops-Whitman Family Development and Neiman Marcus. Brodson’s work has garnered praise from The Miami Herald, Vanity Fair, and Vogue. Overlooking Sunset Lake, 2040 North Bay Road features 12,000 square feet of living quarters, six sleek bedrooms, eight modern bathrooms, a four-car garage, a home theater, as well as a party-ready rooftop deck with fiber optic lighting. Featured in Homes of the Rich, the residence was designed with entertaining in mind; there are vast, open spaces built into the floorplan, which transitions from covered terraces to al fresco areas, all leading towards the stunning two-tier swmming pool and spa.
2) Lennar Corp

Lennar Corp started out in 1954 as F&R Builders, named for founders Gene Fisher and Arnold Rosen. Miller later replaced Fisher and F&R Builders became Lennar—a blend of Leonard and Arnold—in 1971 when the firm went public. By 2008, Lennar had acquired numerous other homebuilders across the country, and was the second largest homebuilder in the U.S., having constructed single-family residences in 18 states.
Leonard Miller died in 1997 and his son Stuart replaced him as CEO and President of the company. In 2006, Lennar was listed as a Fortune 200 company and was mentioned as one of Forbes’ America’s Best Managed companies.

Stuart Miller is building himself an exclusive multi-million-dollar compound to rival the homes of the uber-wealthy. The enormous 120K-square-foot property features a two-story home with underground parking for up to 30 guests as well as yacht dockage, an infinity plunge pool, a cabana bar, a library, a chef’s kitchen, a billiards room, and much more. With tropical landscaping, a lagoon and waterfalls, and a sloping green roof, the home blends in luxuriously with its sultry Floridian surroundings. With designs by Domo Architecure + Design, the 70,000-square-foot home was of course built by Lennar Corporation.

Known for setting and breaking records for Miami home sales, Bart Reines-constructed 6466 North Bay Road in Miami Beach sold for over $20M, the highest sale price ever recorded on North Bay Road. The ultra-modern 12,000-square-foot waterfront spec house was designed by architect Kobi Karp with interior design by Argent Design. It features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, two half-baths, a movie theater, a gym, rooftop terraces, and 100 feet of waterfront property.
A second Kobi Karp collaboration, Barte Reines Luxury Home Builder constructed the 9,000-square-foot waterfront mansion that belongs to Russell Weiner, founder of Rockstar energy drink. Weiner paid $20M for the tropical modern seven-bedroom compound featuring landscaped gardens, covered patios, a rooftop terrace, a pool, three-car garage, a wine cellar, gym, and 160-feet of water frontage. Sitting on an expansive 48,000-square-foot lot, the home was designed with a five-star resort in mind.
