    light electrical work
    $300

I had an awful experience with this company. Three words I would use to describe the owner are undependable, rigid and selfish. The only way I'd recommend him is if you place little or no value on your time, money or project. I was hiring for a small job that included changing out 11 receptacles, a few light switches and removing two phone jacks in a room we are remodeling. I Called 1 Man Electric and Jonathan put me on his schedule for the next day (Friday) around 11:30 am. Friday morning arrives and approximately one hour before my scheduled appointment, I receive a call from Jonathan telling me that he had another customer call who had a more urgent issue that he had to tend to. I was not asked if canceling my appointment an hour or so before the scheduled time was ok with me, but rather, I was TOLD to understand. Being a rational person, I put myself in the other customer's shoes and was understanding and didn't put up a fight even though I was obviously disappointed in how it all went down. So, I told him it was ok. Jonathan then informed me that he might still be able to get to me later that day, but if not, then I would be first on his calendar the following working day (which happened to land on the following Tuesday because of a long holiday weekend), but that he would touch base with me either way at the end of the day. The end of the day came and went and no call from Jonathan. And then no further communication all weekend. Obviously wanting a little detail about an appointment that was supposedly going to happen the next day, I (the customer) had to reach out to him Monday night telling him that I was trying to plan out my day and needed an idea of when he would arrive to perform the work. Let me remind you here that because he had to cancel and bump my last scheduled appointment, I was told I would be first on his schedule the next working day. I was not. Instead, Jonathan said he had another job in the morning and then could get to me (still giving no definite time). Since I knew we had a busy couple of days coming up (and considering he gave me almost zero notice of when he'd arrive to perform the work), I asked him if it would be possible for him to do some of the work without us there. I mean, we were talking about a 3+ hour job and I was given no advanced notice of time. Jonathan replied that us not being home was not acceptable. So he tried to push me back to the following day. I replied that an 8:00 am appointment the next day would work, as I had an afternoon commitment but my morning was open. I mentioned that even though I'd be home when he arrived, when he left, and most of the time in between, I did have to drive my daughter to school quickly and would be gone at most 30 minutes. Again Jonathan replied that that was unacceptable! So, let's take a moment to re-cap here... This is a guy who told me that I HAD to be flexible and understanding when he cancelled and bumped my appointment last-minute because of a more urgent (which we all know means more $$$) appointment. This is also a guy who made no attempt to contact me even 12 hours in advance to schedule a new appointment, but must have been expecting me to drop everything to be home for the entire 3-4 hour appointment when he was willing to grace me with his presence. I mean, perhaps we're the only customers he's ever had with kids, jobs, errands, etc. that can't be home for 4 hours straight without some semblance of a heads up. I replied that I needed him to be flexible here,, I would be gone only a short time and that I've never run into this sort of issue with any other contractors. He replied basically telling me to buzz off. So the moral of the story is that when he needed me to be flexible, I was told to be. When I needed him to be a tad flexible with me, he flat our refused. I've never been treated like this by a contractor and hope that you reading this never are either. So stay away!
