We worked with Neil Thakkar of 180 Custom Home on our kitchen and master bathroom renovation. It was an absolutely awful experience. Neil was almost never on site. The first day, following demo in our kitchen, we came home to find footprints and debris all over the house, plus footprints on our chair which had been used as a stool by one of the workers. That was just the start of the nightmare. Neil assigned another guy as the “foreman” aka a subcontractor, who was also almost never present and lied to us on multiple occasions. One example of incompetence- they removed our interior garage doorway (from foyer to garage) without having ordered a replacement door! They left the garage door off for multiple days in July! When they finally got a door, they forgot an air compressor to install it. Another example- Neil didn’t order a dumpster for demo. Instead, he just had the guys pile us the garbage, including shattered glass in our garage. It sat their for almost a week. We finally had to call him at 7am on a Saturday and demand he clean it up, since our tile was being delivered with no area to unload it to. He sent a guy with a beat up pick up truck to clear it away. When it didn’t all fit in the bed, they had to rent another truck a different day to clear the rest away. Completely unprofessional. Then he tried to charge us for garbage removal, aka a dumpster. In fact, he charged us for tools his guys bought, like wrenches, plus the snacks the bought at Home Depot. On top of that, he didn’t order materials on time which delayed us multiple times. Almost every day, they had to run to Home Depot to pick up something. Worst part- shoddy work was done. Our backsplash edging was jagged because they cut the trim with the wrong saw. The tile was poorly grouted and crooked. The trim in the bathroom was only half installed. The closet door was incorrectly installed. They shattered our new glass shower door when incorrectly installing it. I would advise people to stay away from Neil. He’s completely unqualified as a contractor and is completely unethical.

I have had the pleasure to work with 180 Custom Homes for a couple years. I have watched them take properties from the ground up, do fix and flips, and construction projects. The result is always the same - they develop properties into gorgeous luxury homes. Their work is absolutely top notch and they make sure the client is happy. 180 Custom Homes is very responsive and is present on the job site. They see jobs through completion and if there are ever any items that need correcting post occupancy, they come back and fix them. Watching them do that is just a testament to the kind of company that they are and the work that they do. I would happily recommend 180 Custom Homes!
