Terry Owens, the owner of Hoosier Neighbor, is really a decent man! I say that with all respect! I was really nervous taking on this project especially being new to the State of Indiana. Mr. Owens goes out his way to ensure his clients are treated fairly and are pleased with the finished project. This project wasn’t without challenges due to delays of others not showing up to finish concrete work. Mr. Owens also lost good workers on his staff due the Covid virus. However, he worked tireless hours to complete this project. My screened patio is finished and it looks great and it also adds value to my home!

I hired Hoosier Neighbors on July 21, 2022 to do a total renovation on a single family home, two bedroom, one bath inside and out. my project was contracted to be completed November 21, 2022 The total price of the rehab was $66,000. I have paid this contractor Terry Owens a total of $50,000. as of this day, January 4, 2023 my project is still nowhere near done. in fact, very little work has been done on it. He subcontracts all of the work out, he doesn’t do any of it himself.
But to make a long story short, he hasn’t been paying his subcontractors, they stopped working so I fired him.
The subcontractor comes to pick up their equipment they left behind and takes all of the material I paid Terry Owens for via my contract. He said Terry had him to buy all of the material and was supposed to reimburse him and has only tried to pay him in, Steve the subcontractor’s words” a old broke down trailer that’s only worth about $200.”
Read between the lines people who you are dealing with here.
My property is a mess, they had left good material outside in front of the property over night and mysteriously my new air-conditioning unit comes up missing after being there for two years under a cemented cage.
Two of his other clients reached out to me. They look me up by the permit‘s he had pull for my property. They were trying to warn me about him but by then it was already to late. So my warning to whoever is thinking about doing business with this company, save yourself the stress, time and money.
