By Jessica S.October 8, 2015Replace Furnace, Replace A/C$5,0001 dayHorrible, Dishonest, Downright Shady Owner/Operator!!Read more
BEWARE!! We had a few positive experiences with this company, or so we thought, until the owner failed to fix our heating issue last winter, never came back to correct it, billed us anyway and then stopped returning our calls when we had further problems. The invoice from the spring work left undone was paid this summer, btw. (when I first called to pay with a card, the office person advised me she didn't have the CC machine to do so that day).
We got a home inspection to sell our house this summer, and were told (as we had come to suspect) that some of the wiring in our A/C & furnace unit was not done correctly and needed to be fixed.
Upon hiring Right Now Heating and Air to assist us in order to remedy the situation, since repeated attempts at getting A/C-Z were unsuccessful (the owner's wife actually hung up on me!!) we were advised that none of the "safety features" had been wired in to the unit when it was installed and it was wired incorrectly. This turned out to be why the heating problem had not been resolved in the spring. There was even the wrong kind of valve on the emergency shut off gas switch thing. I had to pay someone else to fix something that had not been done correctly the first time.
But it gets worse! We bought what we were told was a refurbished A/C unit, and it was supposed 7 or 8 years old. The technician with Right Now confirmed what our home inspector thought-the unit was 20 years old! When the unit was being installed, the technician Mark with AC-Z told us someone (from the city I think?) had driven by and inquired as to what he was doing, so he went and pulled a permit real quick, from downtown. He explained to us that this was 'just a formality to keep the city guy off his back, but that he wasn't going to pull one for the inside install of the unit because there was no need and we wouldn't want to have this guy come into our home and try to point out other problems we might already have,' he said. We didn't know any better. We found out from Right Now that the permit that should ALWAYS be obtained for work inside is so that a person from the city comes to inspect the work that was done and be sure that it was done correctly. So of course this AC-Z guy Mark didn't want us to know that or have his work checked!!
To add more insult to being ripped off and lied to, Mark with AC-Z had said when he installed our furnace back in Oct. 2013 that he would get the old unit out no matter what, even if he had to saw it in half. He took the door off leading to the back unfinished room of our basement to do the job (and never put it back so we had to). Just over this summer when I got a light put back in the furthest part of the basement behind my furnace unit, I was shocked to discover half of the unit still sitting back there!! This guy cannot be trusted!!
We verified everything was safe and in working order before we sold the house.
I found the picture but this site won't let me add that when I try to "edit"

Marc came out and quickly fixed my AC problems. I called to make an appointment and he was able to come out within 2 hours when no other company seemed to want to come out so late to help me out. He made it a quick and easy job/ fix and priced fair. Great Service he will be my first call if i need HVAC help again.
