  Don't get MILKED AND BILKED -- stay away from this guy. Had him come over to my house last fall for an estimate. All he basically did was eyeball (no written estimate) everything real quick and tell me "I was looking at about $3,500." He said that "if anyone quoted me for a lot less, they weren't doing it right, and a lot of people went with cheaper contractors, only to call HIM to come and fix their mistakes." (The quote was for a hall up to my living room, the living room, the hall to my upstairs, and two small bathrooms -- all including trim and 4 doors). I had two mirrors in two bathrooms I was going to get painted, and he said "they were stuck to the wall, and it would take at least half a day to pry the mirrors off the walls, spackle, etc..." Turns out my mirrors were only SCREWED ON (I was able to take both of them off the walls MYSELF in less than a minute each). He also said that "I was looking at about a week-long job" (and this was with him and a couple others helping him). I'm a woman, and I live on my own; however, I wasn't baffled by his bull crap (and he knew it). The more he talked, the wider my incredulous smirk grew. He then left. I was able to get someone to do the job (one person alone; 3 days total) for $724 -- and it came out beautiful.

  IF you are SMART you will hire a different painter.

  Asks for money early.

  Did not prep house correctly.

  Thinned out my paint.

  Paint came off house.

  Didn't finish job.

  Didn't correct job.

  Had to hire someone else to take off HIS paint and start/complete entire job.
