These guys are the worst contractors experience We’ve ever encountered. Johnathan Fryman and Oliver Anthony are thrives, liars, and cheats. They started out by defrauding us of $11,500.00 worth of materials which were never picked up and instead Johnathan took the cash and then went to another store and bought builders grade crap with far less value than we paid, and for a new bathroom installed an old used tub and toilet. Then for weeks they only showed up to work when they were getting paid and then left the job once they had been paid. Now we are left with unfinished plumbing, electric, appliance installation, shoddy electrical work (no switch for bathroom light and then no GFI). I believe their contractors license expired in Summer of 2021. Run, don’t walk away from these crooks!

Buyer Beware! Our experience with Jonathan D Fryman and A& J Construction is the worst experience our our entire family’s life! These people are a menace to society! There are far too many griences to list, but please spare yourself the pain and suffering, not to mention the expenses they will milk you for and, and find another REPUTABLE contractor!

A & J Contractors is a legal LLC in Ohio, but they are thieves who fraudulently scam their customers by taking their 25% down payment. After checking all their falsified and/or biased references before agreeing to a contract. As agreed, we paid them (25%) $5,750.00 down. They then ran directly to their bank and cashed our check first thing! We agreed to $23K (everything included) total and a 3-week completion by 5/28/21.
I already had the architectural drawings and the required Sycamore Township certificates. Right-away Jonathan lied about processing and receiving the Hamilton County Building Permits 2-days later. He then violated the Ohio Building Codes by “illegally” starting the excavation on our addition and driveway expansion project without the permits!
That was 8-weeks ago now and our driveway and front yard are still a disaster! After 7-weeks of listening to their excuses and collecting all of Jon’s lies via text, I then found out from Hamilton County that he didn’t ever purchase, nor process the Building Permits. So then my wife and I finally gave-up and concluded that we have been scammed!
On 6/27, I sent a Contract Termination Letter via email to Jonathan Fryman and his partner, Anthony Antonio Oliver Jr.. I kindly asked them to fully-refund us and we would forgive them and move on.
They are ruthless and heartless because they both know that this ($23K) money is actually our 91-year old mother’s investment. We are enclosing our attached carport to build her a comfortable “final” living-quarters in our house, so we can care for her for the rest of her life.
After confirming the receipt of my letter via email, Jonathan text me and said, “I have only 30-days to refund any deposit”. He truly believes that since he lied almost daily, delayed and refused to work on the project beyond 30-days that they are entitled to keep our ($5,750.00) deposit money. It is not in our contract, nor the Ohio Revised Code, so we’ll see what the law says about that! They really messed-up this time and don’t have a clue how far I will “legally” go to get Mom’s money back!
I ADVISE EVERYONE TO AVOID A&J CONTRACTORS! If you have also been their victim, please contact me at [email protected].

By Judy S.May 19, 2021Plumbing project
Building a new house about 1 hr outside of town. Needed a plumbing design right away to get a building permit, but wanted a builder that could help with the whole project. The plumber called and he said he could come out the next day. He didn't show so I called about 3:30 and he said he was on his way. When he didn't show by 5, I called and he said he'd broken down. Next day, I called and he said he could do the design remotely from the info I'd provided. I got a bid on BuildZoom, but it was for the entire project, not just the plumbing design, and didn't include any detail of what they were going to provide. I contacted the plumber multiple times and emailed the company, but got no more information. Now the plumber hasn't returned my calls for the last 2 days even though he said he would via text. I need to move the project forward and can't wait for a company that doesn't seem that interested in my business.

My wife and I were trying to get a bar built in our basement. This contractor came to our house. They presented themselves as professional and experienced. After stating that they have done bars before and talking up a bar they had just done recently. We asked to see pictures. They no longer had them on the phone but would send them (we never did see them). We asked to see a portfolio of work so we could see some samples of what we would like. They said they (Jonathan) said they do everything on a website and that the process went as follows. You sign the contract and pay the 25% down. They then send over the drawings via a website link and you can make changes to the drawings, pick colors and materials at that time. We signed the contract. Never got the website link. Was told their internet was having problems and instead was given links to home depot to pick out materials while we wait on drawings. After a few days of requesting the weblink. We were told that the architect would have to come out to see the space and do the drawing. We agreed to that and he came out. We were told we would have drawing by the evening of the next day. They were aware that we would be out of town over the next week and wanted to get the project started as soon as possible. We never got the drawings and received no further communication from them. I called Jonathan when we got back in town and he had a bunch of excuses as to why we didn't' have the drawings. When asked why he didn't communicate what was going on. He had to real reason. We then canceled the contract and requested our money back. We were told we would get it back three weeks later on March 25th. We waited patiently until that day only to be told somebody stole his identity and his bank account was frozen! He said would be cleared up in about a week and that they would drop a check off personally. Never happened and is now 5/12th! Lawsuit pending! What a horrible experience.

Horrible contractors. Jonathon Fryman is the ring leader. They call themselves contractors but don't seem to know anything. I suspect Jonathon just gets jobs and contracts them out himself. He contracted with us for a 2 car concrete pad and totally botched the job. The concrete was not smooth. It was crackly and there were dips in the concrete and foot prints.
He kept saying he would come back and take care of it, but never did. He charged $2000 and walked away. Please do not use this contractor. They seem like scammers.
