    Subcontractor to refinish and paint kitchen cabinets.

    Schaefer Painting was subcontractor to paint my kitchen cabinets. Work ethic and prep, cleanliness, etc was top notch, however the paint used seems to be thin and inferior and immediately started getting nicks and chips on numerous doors and frames. Can’t get any resolve to have it fixed after repeated attempts the past 6 months to both the contractor and Bryan at Schaefer Painting.

    Complete remodel; tear down; approximately 1500 sq ft

    My review is concurrent with the MLO/MO December 2018 YELP review of this contractor's work performance, operations and business ethics of his December 2017 job abandonment of our remodel project that to date continues in our hardships.
    Although EM Construction is a connection with Daniels Design and Construction and Daniels Development Group, the disorder and financial consequences Mark has caused us cannot be ignored. Mark abandoned our remodel project leaving a non-compliant and non-habitable dwelling affirmed by trade experts and his bond company.
    The tactics of Mark and his counsel to file two mechanical liens and later a Superior Court Conference Management hearing failed. Recently, April 2019 we received notice of the CA Workers Compensation Board filing against Mark for a worker's injury on our project that Mark indicated was nothing serious. It's probable the medical bills were not recognized and/or compensated. Mark you made upfront promises, took our money, nearly $300k and cleared out leaving us unable to move forward.
    It's simple Mark, do the right thing!
    I am deeply remorseful to acknowledge that I pitched Mark's hiring to my daughter grounded by positive reviews. My review of this contractor does not quantify a rating of 1!
