We hired this company to replace the sump pump in our basement. They installed a high capacity sump pump with a budget check valve. In less than sixty days, the check valve busted and was spraying water all over our hot water heater and water softener. The water caused the elements on the hot water heater to burn up, requiring replacement.
They refused to come by and inspect their work or the the damage. They also refused to acknowledge their error, even after they were presented with direct documentation from the manufacturer of the check valve stating it was not compatible with the sump pump.
We had to challenge the payment with our credit card and won. They proceeded to take us to small claims court for six times the amount of the invoice. They claimed that they lost another job because they didn't have enough money to buy the parts since the bank withdrew the funds from their account.
Mistakes happen, but it is how you resolve them that makes the difference. This company does not stand behind their work, and they are not willing to take ownership for their mistakes.
