  security system, electric water heater, safety repairs, in-wall wiring for TV

  Wonderful service over and over! First he installed my security system, then he installed an electric water heater (and saved me $400!) After a contractor totally screwed up my wiring on a remodel, he came and checked it all for safety for two hours that night, and spent the next day isolating and re-wiring circuits. The last time I hired Rover was to wire a flat screen TV into the wall- not easy crawling under the house, again, and getting all those wires connected. Always on time, never wastes time, and I always feel safer!

  Rover installed my solar panels 5 years ago. They came back to fix a small leak in a junction box 4 years later. This year, several panels stopped working. They spent many hours looking for the cause until they saw a tiny amount of leakage in some panels. All that follow-up was free. LG sent replacement panels and they installed them for a reasonable cost.

  High price, poor quality

  I found this contractor to be BELOW the average for electricians in San Diego. He prefered to bill by the day, instead of by the task, without adjustment for less than 8 hour days, and without adjustment for failed tasks. He billed for 2 persons, even when a single electrician could easily do the required tasks, and even when his helper would do most of the work, while he would talk on the phone to other clients. It was necessary for us to retain a separate electrician to complete the required tasks, because much of his work was NOT correctly done. He failed to complete several of the simple assigned tasks, such as connecting a wall switch to an existing bedroom outlet. It appears that these failures were because the actual work was done by his assistant with minimal direction or supervision. His initial bid was very high at $6,500. By comparison, most of our required tasks were later completed by a separate electrician for only $1,600.
