My wife and I decided to go with A1 because of their fair price and good reviews that we read and boy did we learn a lesson. First of we wanted a new door. Did we get the door we picked out? No. Doesn’t surprise me because every time I asked him if he ordered the door we wanted he would ask which model it was. Then on the day of the install his crew was asking me about what kind of door it was. Finally after realizing that there was going to be a snow storm that night and we needed a door on our house one was purchased, of course not the one we wanted but one that was half the price we paid for. Mind you we paid him up front for the door we wanted. We expected the money left over would go into the rest of our project. I would come home from work and find my house and my yard a mess. Junk everywhere. Food and bottles from the crew just laying around. No one cleaned up after themselves. Then what was most appalling was when I lifted the toilet seat and found that someone had taken a NO.2 and did not flush. I was nice enough to let them use my bathroom and they do that? I also would come home from work and find that the crew was doing the incorrect work and then would argue with me on what items on the house needed to be replaced. Speaking of his crew. Jose's crew had no clue what they were doing. They would come on and off the job whenever they felt like it. I would have Jose calling me and telling me the reason why he's not showing up is because Francois did not pay him or his crew. Who does that? Eventually we no longer had Jose's crew on the job. We agreed in the contract that my wife and I would pay Francois when the door was finished and the inside of the house was primed and ready for paint. I remember on one occasion that Francois asked me for a check. I said for what? He said for the door being finished. Yes the door was in but the new heating and the inside was not finished as stated in the contract. I also told him that I do not write the checks and that he would have to talk to my wife about that. HE WAITED FOR THREE HOURS IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR HER TO GET HOME!!. He harassed us and demanded we give him a check and we eventually did because he was so pushy. Did he finish the inside of our home? NOPE!!! It was found that there was additional debris removal from the demo of my house which would require an addendum to the contract so we gave Francois an additional amount of money. Later it was found that we should have given him half of what we paid for because the amount of debris removed wasn’t much. He never gave us our money back. Take a look at the pictures all of that debris sat in my yard for weeks!!!!!! We also wrote him a check for our stone veneer that we were getting on our house. Nothing was ever ordered. He basically lied and took our money but after threatening to go the police he promptly returned our money. That’s the only dollar amount we have been able to get back besides the credit card charge that we were able to cancel and get back. There was a second crew on the job and they did a wonderful job until Francois never followed through with ordering material and he never paid them. Still to this date he owe them money. Who in the world does that? Francois is so pathetic that he promised me that he would order our siding and that it would be delivered to our house the next day. He couldn’t provide us with a receipt or proof that the material was ordered. I had to call the siding company and find out if they were delivering the material the next day and they said that Francois had to be there to sign. AND GUESS WHAT? HE WAS NOT THERE THE NEXT DAY! THE TRUCK CAME AND FRANCOIS WAS NOT THERE TO SIGN. He gave the excuse they did not give him sufficient time but why would the trucking company travel 2 hrs if they knew you were not going to be there. I even have it on camera as proof that the came with the material. A1 Remodeling owned and operated by Francois Hernandez is a legit joke. He comes off as knowing his stuff but I should have known better. He doesn’t pick up his phone and you can't leave a voice mail because his inbox is always full. He lies and will steal your money. I have contacted the BBB and submitted a claim and I will not stop until my wife and I are paid back. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE COMPANY THEY ARE HORRIBLE.
