Julian Puente jr. started a plumbing job on my remolding project, but before he started he asked for half of the fees up front. I figured it was a deposit and he needed to purchase materials for the job. Being that he was a friend for many years, I didn’t hesitate. He then worked on the plumbing two hours each day for three days. After the third day, and the check cleared, he stopped work, for about ten days. Since I was not in a hurry to finish the remolding project, time was aloud to Mr. Puente when he didn’t show up. After several weeks past, he finally recommitted to continue the job, but as he continued, the finally payment was asked for. Again, because I considered him a long time friend and a person I trusted, I didn’t hesitate. Then at no one’s fault, the pandemic hit, COVID. As a result, all work was stopped for a year. Then three weeks ago I called him to finish the job, where he agreed to meet me at the site the following day, but he didn’t show up. Since, I’ve been trying to get in touch with him, but now he’s been dodging my calls. I’ve tried to negotiate by leaving him messages, that if there’s any additional costs, because of the time that has past and price increases, that I would understand, but to be reasonable. After three weeks of unsuccessful calls, I’ve been unable to get in contact with him. I’m now looking to replace, Puente as my plumber. Because of his failure to complete the job he was paid for, I will have to forfeit additional costs.
