They sent someone out to check my heat pump and discovered that it was the fan motor on the outside unit. The man took the fan motor off and told me it would have to be replaced. He then made a couple of calls and told me a price for the replacement part. He said the motor would cost over $500 and that he could replace it with a cheaper motor and it wouldn't make any difference. He then put the motor back on {the one he had taken off} and said he would have to go to shop to get the new motor. A different man came back the next day with the motor and took the old motor off again. He then took the blade off the old motor and put it on the new one. He had to cut the wires and wired the new motor up and put everything back together. I paid the bill and they left. A few days later I noticed the heat pump was running a lot but didn't think to much about it. When I received my electric bill it was a lot higher than usual. I knew this would happen due to the emergency heat running for 3 days before they came out to repair the heat pump. When I received the next electric bill it was even higher. I thought that maybe where the heat pump had torn up that the emergency heat had been running longer than I expected. I had gotten sick and wasn't home for a few days and when I came back home I had forgotten to pay my electric bill for the next month. I received my electric bill for two months and couldn't believe it. The electric bill had tripled compared to normal. I started checking the thermostat and noticed the emergency heat kicked on when the temperature dropped below freezing. When the temperature is in the mid twenties the emergency heat runs constantly. I have contacted AAA One about this and waiting to hear back from them. I will update this review later when I see what they are going to do. I would have thought that someone in this business would have known better to replace a motor with a different one. I did find out from a friend that the motor they had taken off was a variable speed motor and the one they replaced it with wasn't. I know it would have saved me a lot of money {though the motor was over $500)if they had replaced it with the same type. I am very upset about this because I am disabled and live on a fixed income and also had to borrow money to have heat pump fixed. I would not recommend this company to anyone simply because I don't think they know what they are doing.
