It was a fairly straight-forward, small bath remodel that involved completely gutting the room, closing up a doorway, and moving the waste and supply pipes very slightly. We replaced the vanity, toilet, and exhaust fan, and skimmed the ceiling after removing the old popcorn finish. It went pretty quickly once the demolition was completed. The various subs--plumber, electrician, HVAC, drywaller, and tile-setter--did good work. I did the painting, so I discovered that the carpenter could have been a bit more carefull getting the doorframe put back on. Communication with the contractor could have been better as I wasn't always sure when, or who, might be showing up. Sometimes the subs would call ahead. But Gene didn't like emails, so it was either a very short text, or voice mail (or an actual phone call). I wasn't given a written schedule; the schedule was handled orally. Despite all that, the room did turn out great. We really like it, though I wish we would have received a Paid-in-Full receipt with an itemized list of various up-charges at the end. He did follow through on everything he promised, and we got everything we asked for, so I'll trust to his earned honesty. Gene is a really interesting, straight-shooting kind of guy who gets the job done.
