DONT DO IT! Just don’t. Their so called “warranty” is a joke. They take zero responsibility for their workmanship. We’ve had the same two problems with our home since the day we moved in. We have been in our home for over 2 years. I’ve contacted UBH Fort Worth location multiple times, they sent Spencer out a few times, and a few other UBH guys to RUDELY tell us “oh no, not fixing that but good luck to you” Before we started construction Steven and Wesley sat at our kitchen table, looked us in the eye and told us that if we had ANY issues with our home to contact them and it would be fixed. That is a bold face lie!!! Long story short, take your hard earn money and contact another builder. You will thank me!

We worked closely with Sheryl & Stephen and have been impressed with the step by step explanations. They have been very accessible whenever we have had questions. We closed this past week. I can’t wait to see the house go up step by step. We live on the property so we will be able to watch the progress. We are so excited.

We are just finishing up our very first ever build and I am beyond happy that we chose UBH. I read review after review before we ever started (the good and the bad) and I can honestly say that this has been a good experience for us. Seth made the planning/buying process easy and Dan has made sure everything was done in a timely matter and addressed any concerns we have had. Everyone that has been out here to work on our house have been excellent and at times very patient with us. Would recommend to anyone wanting to build a house.

When I was ready to build a new home, I researched home builders and chose UBH. It was a great experience and I was pleased with my Sales Manager Steven Crews who was with me every step of the process. My Project Manager, Kyle Johnson, was easy to work with, provided updates on the progress of the build during the project, and managed the crews coming on site with expertise. I gave them my wish list of everything I wanted in a home and they were able to accommodate my wants in the design. They even made suggestions that I had not thought about and I am so glad I took their advice! We broke ground on August 2 and I moved into the home the day before Thanksgiving. I was able to watch the build, meet the crews, and ask questions throughout the process. Steven and his team made me feel like I was their top priority and their goal was to insure I was happy and pleased with the progress of my dream home. Four years later, I am just as pleased with my new home as I was the day I moved in! I highly recommend UBH and the staff at the Fort Worth Office.

Wesley Tadlock with UBH is the worst. He made a mistake that would have taken no more than 2 minutes to fix and instead of doing so tried to belittle me and spent hours trying to convince me that his mistake wasn't his. What a waste of time and a completely unprofessional experience. I would not recommend doing business with this company on any front.

RUN...RUN...RUN!!! Think about it, they post all of the "POSITIVE" reviews on their site which by the way offers a "$500 Referral". If your product is so great why not let the work speak for itself?
Our home is a joke; we have steal wool shoved under the hardy board on the back porch because UBH (fat boy SPENCER and puppet STEVEN) refuse to correct it. This home ran WAY OVER SCHEDULE...we were quoted 90 to 120 days but it took these jokers over 3X that and they even lost their framing crew because they lied to them about the size and scope of the work to be performed.
The kitchen had to be redone twice because the cabinet guy couldn't use common sense and a tape measure to save his life but if we went with the $15k cabinets he tried to sell us on...well, that's a different story. The tile guys screwed up and tiled a bathroom that shouldn't have been tiled and then screwed up the tile in the bathroom that should have been tiled. The plumbing...thankfully the plumber had water handy in case he caught the home on fire while smoking in a brand new home but that's not a big deal since we actually had to hire our own plumber to fix his leaky workmanship. Don't forget about the awesome electrician...what an @55; this guy wired ceiling fans backwards and even placed light switches that actually control NOTHING...that's great for a party gag.
Roof leaked prior to completion and even caused the drywall guys to have to come back but they said it wasn't their fault or problem and that I had to contact UBH. Again UBH didn't fix it...we had to get it fixed, nice warranty!
I HATE manufactured homes and swore that I'd never live in one but I bet you dollars to donuts that a manufactured home has better craftsmanship than a POS UBH home.
UBH is horrible...
Poor workmanship

Our home was built in 2016 by UBH in the Dallas area. After living in our home for 7 days our bamboo started lifting. UBH blamed the flooring company. After multiple inspectors and engineers reviewed the issues it was decided that we had a "wet" slab, likely caused by a compromise in the pastic barrier between the slab and the ground. UBH told me they operated with integrity and would do everything in their power to fix our problem. They removed our carpet our baseboards, and just several months ago only offered us a check for an amount not even enough to replace the flooring much less fix our wet slab. We had our slab tested again recently and we currently have a slab with 99% humidity. We just want our home whole and fixed. We recently moved a piece of furniture to find mold underneath it. We are having testing on this done this week. Its very disheartening that this could happen to anyone. I would not recommend this builder to my worst enemy.

We were pleased with the work they did. It was completed in the timeframe that they quoted and the price was reasonable.

Hello, we have had a horrendous experience with UBH. read the entrire review to see if you can make a very costly warranty claim to ubh. we have documented build issues since the very beginning. I have a background in home construction and was on the lookout for shoddy work. anytime poor workmanship came up i documented it with video and pictures. and relayed it to UBH so it could be fixed with minimum disruption and cost to job. There site superintendent would gloss over any issues brought to his attention and just state as the build progresses those issues would just disappear. Well, like so many other things....poor framing leads to bad drywall leads to bad tape and bed leads to bad paint leads to a big expensive fix that ubh does not want to do. they will refer you to a set of build standards called NAHB, National Homebuilders association that has some very very vague building standards. Standards so lax that virtually anyone with rudimentary building skills and any pride in workmanship could build to.....UBH has failed time after time to ever even come close to those minimum standards. Something that might be very helpful for each and every one of you. there is one very helpful rule in that guide book that most overlook but may give you some leverage in dealing with UBH and might give us a leg to stand on regarding a class action lawsuit. They are required by their building code to install material to the guidelines stated by the material manufacturer. Please be aware as you are having warranty work done by UBH within that guideline book many of the standards are limited to one time repairs and they will try to use that against you. You might have a sheetrock blemish that you ask them to repair. If you notice a new one later they can say your warranty only required they repair the sheetrock one time. One of the easiest things to do properly on you home but what they probably failed to do is install the house wrap properly on you house. There are very specific rules regarding housewrap that they use and they do not follow them. The way the wrap is lapped, and taped and installed around openings in your house is very clear with no leeway for doing it wrong. They do not install it even remotely correctly. While it was the easiest to do at the time and they do not do it properly it is one of the absolute most costly things that can be required for them to fix. In addition they do not install hardy board correctly. There are specific rules about priming and drip edge clearances that they don't do properly and don't realize that their own build standards require that they do properly. I am making youtube videos regarding our horrible experience with ubh and would like to get as many other peoples stories out there as possible. We may never be made whole by ubh but perhaps we can help other people considering using this company think twice and perhaps make a wiser decision. i can be reached at [email protected]
