Dean Nunez is a scammer. He over quotes u, takes your money then does a very shoddy job. He won’t return calls. Look up his name and you’ll see his record. A criminal! I’m just sorry I didn’t look him up sooner. Stay far away from this so-called company

We only recently moved into our home on Long Island and of course, on the coldest winter evening, on a weekend, the oil fired furnace stops and will not kick back on.
It is an emergency and we know we will have to pay dearly for it… we are told that just for the service call, it would be $225… but we didn’t expect to pay a markup of 1824% !!!! That is NOT a typo! This is clearly price gouging and predator pricing… and it SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! It is 10 degrees outside… what else can I do? I paid for the repair. I paid $625 for a $37 part!!!
Attempts to contact Dean Nunez went unanswered - I wanted an explanation as to why he charged so much. I also wanted to give him the opprotunity to adjust the price. All to no avail.
Dean Nunez, obviously does not care. There aren’t many reviews that I can find regarding him or his work, but the few I found show that he has taken advantage of others in a similar manner - cold, sub-freezing temperatures and poor (unresolved?) customer satisfaction.
Please be aware, and on the lookout for this man, Dean Nunez and his businesses - Accurate A/C & Heating and Charge-It plumbing and heating.
My husband called Accurate AC run by Dean Nunez because one of our split systems on one side stopped blowing cool air. His son Dennis came out on 7/4/23 but was unfamiliar with our specific system (which we were unaware of at the time). Dennis said he used 14lbs of Freon that the system was empty, overcharged us which we paid in cash because we were appreciative of him coming so quickly and seemingly fixing it and because we thought were dealing with a professional. The air wasn’t blowing out cold yet but he said to shut off the system for a half an hour and let everything settle and then left after we paid him.
That evening the AC still blowing out hot air, both Dennis and Dean were completely unreachable (which was disappointing considering they boast a 24 hour hotline) despite many calls. We have pets and two small children and had only one room that had a working AC (the other split system) in 80-90° weather.
My husband called them multiple times and unfortunately after threatening to report his company to the BBB did Dean finally return his call on 7/5/23. Dean proceeded to curse at my husband, tell him he doesn’t care if we report him or about reviews and that he knew where we lived (why say that as a business owner if that’s not some kind of a threat??) and ultimately said that he would send someone by after my husband demanded he send someone else.
After that we spoke to the son, Dennis, who said he was going to come back today, that he only had one client this morning and that if he couldn’t fix it he would refund us the full amount. That was around 10am. We decided to have someone else (DWP System Corp - highly recommend as David is actually a professional who was able to fix the system) scheduled to come by in case they didn’t show up since we have not received any communication from Accurate AC except for us consistently calling them and then being constantly lied to (“be there in a half an hour” at 2:45pm for example). When Dennis finally showed up at 9pm with other guys (while the other new technician we hired was almost done fixing the problem), he gave us this story that he will definitely refund us, he’ll talk to his mom and they’ll talk to his dad, told us that his dad is a piece of work. Told us that he doesn’t have access to the business funds so he can’t actually refund us right then and there (despite us paying him in cash the day before), but not to worry, he’ll have his dad send us a cashier’s check. Dennis leaves again after a lesson from the new tech who actually fixed the AC on how to fix this specific system.
Not a half an hour later Dennis texts us that he spoke to his dad and that his dad said that they can’t refund us because we had another tech come out and we were supposed to give them 48 hours to fix it (but nowhere in writing does it say this, and Dennis himself told us that Dean told him to tell us to go F*^% ourselves) and that he doesn’t know what to do. Called Dean again and he hung up on us, texted us that we are as*h*les for hiring another tech and that it wasn’t even 24 hours from when they came yesterday (lol yeah it was over 30 hours) and basically that we are SOL. So I highly do not recommend this company, and I’d advise anyone else to be smart and avoid.
