HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HE RIPPED US OFF! My name is Barry Cohen and Vivian Caylor lives with me in this house and we both have to suffer due to Act Heating And Cooling's negligence while ripping off both us and the factory (American Standard) for hundreds of dollars each for replacing expensive parts that never needed to be replaced! The fact is that Act knowingly installed an A/C system into this house that is a full 1 ton too small! This is causing our undersized A/C system to not be able to pull the relative humidity out of this house which in turn is causing an extremely unhealthy and uncomfortable humid environment that is a real health hazard! Also because the A/C system Act Heating And Cooling installed is to small for the size of the house the system NEVER SHUTS OFF when the temperature is warm outside because of this undersized A/C system. It runs non-stop in the summer and on all hot days! This is causing HUGE electric bills of $350-$400 per month for our small home that is only 1,200 square feet of size under air! Vivian and I discovered this after they replaced the entire evaporator Coil and valve system and charged us for it after telling us that the Coil was the problem. After replacing the evaporator Coil system it did absolutely nothing to help this ongoing problem! We then had 2 other A/C companies over to our home to check out this A/C system and they both confirmed that this system is 1 ton too small. One of these A/C companies also had to repair Acts faulty air handler and ductwork installation that caused other problems as well! We then asked Act to show some good faith and replace this system to the proper size and they flat-out refused after already taking our hard-earned money for the evaporator coil waste of time replacement and money! The bottom line is Act may sometimes do proper work for some of their customers, however, when they screw up Act refuses to be responsible and show good faith to fix their negligent mistakes! This show of bad faith is not good for anyone! This review is God's Truth and because of these facts, we feel that Jonathan the owner and his company is not to be trusted! My door is always open if Jonathan decides to do the right thing and replace this A/C system with one that is the correct size to serve my house or reimburse me for the one I will soon have to have installed! I very much doubt that this day will ever come because of his horrible attitude towards making good for his own negligent mistakes. But if he does I will be happy to update my reviews of ACT Heating and Cooling! Best wishes and please be careful to those that read this review!
