We called them out because we had elevated radon detected in our basement and we were wanting a quote on a radon mitigation system. After a look around, he pointed out some faulty plumbing in the basement that might be the cause of the radon gas intrusion. He suggested that maybe we could just seal it up ourselves and save on having to actually buy a mitigation system and, if it didn't work, then he could come back out to install one. He left without charging us at all, even without knowing if he'd be back to install a system. We were super impressed that he was willing to suggest options to solve our problem that he wouldn't profit from at all. I feel it really speaks to his honesty and integrity. We're going to try the simple fix ourselves, but if it doesn't work, we'll definitely be calling him out to install a mitigation system since we know he isn't trying to overcharge us or deal with us dishonestly at all.
