Advanced Construction Design

Having been trying to get in contact with the owner Joel for a week now in regards to a refund he owes us for incomplete work after five days of a NIGHTMARE working with this unprofessional and incompetent “company”. He will not return phone calls or texts. I will update if we hear from him, but I advise NO ONE use this company or Joel for work if you value your time and money. Joel was to start a job for us that included electrical work and hood venting. He was scheduled to start on Wednesday, as we were in a time crunch, it need it done as soon as possible. He messaged us the day before and informed us that he was unable to start Wednesday to do a conflict and will start Friday. We reluctantly agreed I told him that the work still needs to be done within the timeframe agreed. Not only did Joel show up to our house late on the first day, he spent eight hours simply switching out outlets and made all of our electrical worse!!! By the time he left we had no lights working in our kitchen, different switches were working different lights... it was a MESS! He was supposed to be back the next morning at 7:30, we were up waiting for him until 1030 that morning, when I called from a different cell phone and he finally answered stating that he forgot about a party for his children and was unable to come that morning even though he did not call us or inform us. He then said he would come later that afternoon, and again did not show up!! It is nearly impossible to get a hold of him, and when we did finally talk to him, it was at 8 PM that evening and he told us he be out the next morning at 7:30. At this point we were extremely aggravated but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and we had already paid him 50% for a job he spend 8 hours making worse. He was to come back the next morning (Sunday now) at 730... again didn’t show up until 11am, stayed at our house for another 8 hours and all he accomplished was to fix the light and light switches HE messed up the first day!!!! We were not better off, than when we started this project. My husband trying to be the nice ersons he is, kept trying to reason with this man and make it work. But being 9 months pregnant and needing to be induced (hence the time crunch) we had no choice but to halt the project. My husband was MORE than fair and told Joel he would pay him for the job he did and only request half the amount we already paid him back. We should have gotten it all back! Joel agreed and said he would Venmo my husband the money Within a few days. It’s been 2 weeks, we’ve left multiple messages and text and nothing! Our next step is small claims court, as this wasn’t a cheap project and this man literally conned is into a project he could not do and took our money. Unless we hear from Joel soon, which I will update this review if we do, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR JOEL!!!!
