  AHS sent them to fix water line to the refrigerator

  This company is a total scam!!! I had a very disappointing experience with this company. My home insurance America Home Shield sent them out after I filed a claim for a leaking water line to my refrigerator. The technician, Alex, told me the insurance would not cover the repair because “there was no angle stop” in the kitchen to turn off the water.

  However, while he was inspecting the leak, he went under my sink and used the angle stop himself to shut off the water—clearly proving it did exist. Despite this, he reported to my insurance company that there was no angle stop and claimed he couldn’t do the job. He then handed me a third-party quote from someone he “knew” who wanted to charge me $1,000 for the repair.

  On top of that, the service call itself cost me $100, which was a complete waste of money since the technician didn’t actually fix anything. My husband figured out the issue, went to Home Depot, bought the needed part for under $10, and repaired it himself without any problem.

  After looking on Yelp & Google, I found other reviews showing the same exact scam, even with the same technician’s name on their invoice. Clearly, this is not just a mistake — it’s how they run their business.This is not just a bad technician — this is a shady company that preys on people. Avoid them at all costs. I can’t say—but it left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. Customers deserve honesty, especially when dealing with something as important as home repairs.
  Shame on America Home Shield for taking their word and denying people legitimate claims.

  Like many others who’ve dealt with Advanced Home Services, I was sent their way by my home warranty provider to fix a water heater issue. Their inspection report came back with a “code violation” and claimed that the water heater was undersized for my property. Based on this report, my home warranty promptly denied my claim.

  Then came the sales pitch. Advanced insisted that my only option to meet city code was to “upgrade” to a high-efficiency unit—for a whopping $3,800. Naturally, I wanted to confirm this, so I spoke with a city inspector, who quickly set the record straight: this “code violation” claim was completely false.

  When I confronted Andy from Advanced with this information, he refused to reconsider unless he heard it directly from the city inspector. To be clear, city inspectors are not at the beck and call of contractors—and Andy surely knows that. After much back-and-forth with my home warranty company, I finally secured a second opinion, and the water heater was replaced by warranty as it should have been.

  To me, this suggests one of two things: either Advanced lacks the basic competence to assess standard issues, or they’re pushing an agenda to upsell unnecessary services based on false information. I am filing complaints with the Contractors Board and the Attorney General’s Office, as this level of service borders on deceptive practices.

  We had problems with getting heat. This company told us it was the thermostat. He kept replacing one after another. None worked. He went back for more. He finally went on the roof and said he flipped a switch. We paid the bill. He also replaced our thermostat with a much cheaper one. Upon urging they replaced it with one equal to ours. It was never the issue. I went to use air conditioning and it wouldn't work. The company came out and said the board need replaced. That's the switch he changed, board was the issue. The company said it'd be $600. We said they should've done it right to begin with. They wouldn't budge and we said we'd give them a bad review and they refused to come at all. Heed the above complaints, steer clear.

  Leak repair

  A few days ago I realized that there was water under my kitchen sink. Upon careful inspection I found out that when I run the faucet, it leaks from the bottom.

  I called Advanced and their plumber was at my house within 2 hours. He inspected my leak and diagnosed that it would be more cost effective form e to install a new faucet than to repair my old one.

  I chose to install my own unit, so ran to Home Depot and picked up a nice Moen unit which the plumber installed and within 60 minutes I had a great looking faucet and no leaks.

  AC

  My AC broke on a Friday and I have three small girls. They couldn't come out until Monday. Once the technician came out on Monday he said he was ordering the part. On Tuesday I never heard from them until I contacted them and I called the technician because the office didn't answer. The technician said that dispatcher try calling me but I never received a call from her. The next day o. WEDNESDAY, the dispatcher finally calls and tells me that the first available time they have is until the next day. I asked to speak to the manager and he didn't seem to care. I told them okay come out tomorrow but I will be letting news 13 be aware. The manager said oh since you treated us I don't be able to move forward. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They don't care if you have little ones they won't fix it!!! I definitely don't recommend this company to anyone.

  Fix AC

  AC was making noises. Called HSA for a home warranty. Advanced Home Services showed up the next day told me it was running in top condition. 3 days later on Sunday AC is blowing hot air
  Of course, HSA tells me they will contact the repair company but they won't come until Monday. Advanced Home Services show up Monday morning replace a Capacitor tell me everything is ok. Get home from work that nite AC is blowing hot air again. Call advanced and leave two messages and no response. Call the person who did the work ask him if they can come over and look at the AC, promises to call back. Nope. No return call. Forgot to mention current outside temp is 116 degrees. Would not recommend this business to anyone in the Las Vegas area that has HSA home warranty coverage.

  My problem was my hot water recirculating pump was not doing the job. The pump was 10 years old. The technician came to my house and evaluated the system. Hot water to the kitchen took about 45 seconds, way too long. He took a picture of the pump and said we will see how much it is. The next day he sent a report to A.H.S. that the system was working fine. I called A.H.S. and they sent another company to my home and the technician said the system was not working correctly and that they were going to install a new pump. Beware of this company they are not truthful.

  Worst experience ever. Company has guy answer the phone by the name of Andre. Claims to be owner, when asked to speak to owner. Won't give his last name, when asked. Supposedly came to my home and left without doing any
  work. When called again, was told no one by the name of Andre works there.
  Billed a $100.00 for the visit. Now going to Better Business Bureau.
  Don't do any business with this company!!! They are liars and con-men.
