Where to start. I interviewed Mr. Shelton for a remodeling job in my home and hired him. He seemed like a decent contractor and hiss estimates looked professional. I explained to him my wife worked and he should finish up the day before she gets home in the evenings. He said he would.
He was at my home for about a week and was never on time. He gave me excuse after excuse. He usually showed up after 12:00 noon.
Finally after he kept repeating this behavior i fired him. I made a down payment of around 11,000$ and told him to keep what he thought i owed him and give me back the rest. I never seen a dime. I told my son which happens to be a law enforcment officer, about this he asked me his name. My son rolled his eyes and said i should have let him know ahead of time and that Mr. Shelton had been in trouble with the law and has been arrested for several crimes up to and including drug use. I then decided to sue him but quickley found out this was easier said than done. I called every lawyer in town it seemed like to me and none could represent me because it would be a conflict of interest. Finally i found one that could but by then he was back in prison for a drug charge. I also found a woman who he messed over as well. DO NOT HIRE HIM! I wish i knew then what i know now. Save your money.
