Working with Affiliated Restoration Contractors was our first experience with major contract work. We were having work done at a time when we had a lot going on in addition to me being 8 months pregnant. Our experience with Affiliated Restoration Contrators was one that people only dream of. No horror stories here. The work began on time at the start of the project and each day there after. The work and work quality was consistently good. Additionally, the communication was impeccable. Everything from the planning, design, execution, and follow up was top notch and professional. We discussed everything- the type, durability, and quality of the materials to make sure we were getting the best products that would work for our household, and in the end it turned out great. Bob listens, answers questions, provides feedback and goes the extra mile to make sure your vision is executed perfectly and meets all codes and applicable standards.

This was my first time with this contractor and everything went according to plan. Communication was top notch and professional. I would work with them again and recommend to my family and friends.

Bob was very thorough in providing options for me with this project. He made mock-ups and measured basement while pointing out things I should consider for my project. He seemed to be interested in my project.

This is my second project working with Bob and his crew (you can see my other review of our Kitchen remodel earlier this year). For this project, we renovated our basement bathroom. This was a full renovation where we changed show head/shower control to a different wall, some in ground plumbing changes to address drainage, and then install of additional lighting and a vent fan. Bob and his team took about 3 week from time of starting demo to time of completion. The work was great and completed within the quote. Bob also spent additional time going to the tile store with me to hand select the tiles for both the shower (this was a mortar bed install) as well as flooring of the bathroom itself. I would definitely recommend Affiliated Restoration Contracting and will be using them again in the near future for master bathroom renovation.

My experience with Affiliated Restoration was fantastic. The experience was so good, that I have hired them again for a separate project. This review is for a kitchen remodel. Bob was extremely knowledgeable and help point out potential problems with the initial scope that we were able to talk through/investigate ahead of time prior to finalizing the contract to avoid any surprises (example was opening up some soffits to make sure there weren't any major electrical, beams, or duct work in the way). He provided updates on timing whenever we requested them, was very considerate of our time (we were living in the home during the remodel) and stayed ahead of any orderings. When we were extremely busy, he even provided my wife samples of tiles instead of us having to go to the store to pick them out which she really appreciated. All of his crew were really friendly, always cleaned up, and provide excellent ideas to tweak the final product so that we were truly happy. The attention to detail, accurate estimate, and completion on time was outstanding. I have already recommended them too 2 separate friends that are considering remodels and will continue to do so.

My whole experience with Bob was great. Bob and his team listened to all my questions and answered them. They were very honest about everything start to finish. And with the way they handled business, the end recent was beautiful. I don’t know how he did it but they surpassed my expectations. Great work, will definitely recommend him to friends.

Bob was huge help. I recently bought my first home and it needed major repairs with his help we were able to remodel the 2nd floor kitchen, remodel the first and second floor bathrooms, add added an hvac system. He answered all my questions even when i was asking the most trivial of questions. He help with smaller side projects and was very reasonable with pricing. Affiliated Restoration remodel my home after purchase . All of the workers were very compassionate and worked closely with me to help make my home look better than ever they made a bedroom out of a walk-in closet to die for I love it, They are skilled workers and have a good eye for detail and style. Bob would could me fancy, because I would send him items lol, he found These chandelier that was put in my closet and in my master bedroom, my bathroom is lovely, and they did a wonderful job on my 2nd bathroom. They added two rooms in my basement, a fitness room and additional bedroom for my daughter. And still have a nice size basement for entertainment, I started off with 4 bedrooms end up with 6 rooms but as I say he made one room out of beautiful walk in closet for me, my floors and lightenings in dining room and livingroom are gorgeous, they made the other bedrooms floors come alive again which I also love, I will recommend Bob and his crew I give them 5 stars because if you see the before and after you will know why.

They went above and beyond. Everyone that viewed the home wanted the contractor"s information. They did an amazing job! Unfortunately, my aunt died before the completion of the project. Not only did Bob attend the funeral but he assisted me with whatever I needed up until we closed on the sale of the house. I was told by Bob to call him still if anything comes up. Our experience with Affiliated Restoration Contractors was amazing! My husband and I recently purchased a new home that needed some tender loving care. Bob and his talented crew turned our 1950's mediocre ranch home into a lovely, modern cozy cottage. Bob and his team were punctual, professional, friendly and stayed on schedule. We removed the carpeting and wood paneling from our family room. We removed/replaced the wood trim from the doors and windows. We added insulation, hung new drywall, painted the walls, refinished an outer door and laid hardwood laminate waterproof flooring. Affiliated's employees were very conscientious and hard working. They arrived when they said they would and Bob, the gc, kept us informed of issues along the way and helped us to resolve them in a way to take care of the issue with minor impacts to the budget. They offered good, practical suggestions for how to further improve our remodel. The project was completed over the course of 8 weeks with around 5 to 6 weeks of actual on-site work.

Recently worked with Bob for a kitchen and bathroom renovation for a condo. Great communication and great work from his team. Was running on a tight schedule but he made sure the work was done in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Chicago area.

Working with Bob and his team was a great experience from start to finish. We did an entire kitchen remodel (floors, cabinets, countertops, pulled in a gas line, new lighting fixtures, and added a big pass-through in a wall), and it was a remarkably stress-free process. Of course it is disruptive having your kitchen torn up (with kids and a dog to boot), but "stress-free" in the sense that the workers always showed up as scheduled, any questions were answered promptly, we were updated on any hiccups along the way (we have an old house that presented a few surprises!), and the job was finished within the timeframe allotted. No surprises on the final invoice either! The process was as smooth and calm as could be expected with such extensive work. As the head craftsman on our project, Greg was absolutely phenomenal as well. Would 100% recommend Bob and his team for any remodeling need you have!

I first used Affiliated Restoration years ago to renovate/repair my basement after extensive water damage. Although this was an insurance claim, Affiliated was very cost conscious and made excellent suggestions throughout the project. Recently I contact Bob Kollath to get a bid on installing hardwood flooring in three rooms. Their bid was competitive and they were available to work within in my timeframe. The floors was completed on time and I am very happy with the results. I like the level of expertise provided and the open communication throughout the project. I have recommended Affiliated Restoration in the past and would not hesitate to recommend them again.

Bob and his team(s) worked out great. They did a closet remodel between two bedrooms that involved troubleshooting various issues in our 140 year-old wood-frame home. They re-worked the bid to accurately reflect various details. The teams that came in to do the work were punctual, respectful, skilled, and got the job done. Bob and his workers are very knowledgeable and able to recommend various solutions including making adjustments to work within our budget. The carpenter was particularly skilled and Bob was personally involved in getting things to align in our not level home. We are very pleased with how quickly and well the work was completed.

Bob was very professional to work with, and his crew kept a very clean worksite over the several months they were working at my townhouse. The project involved a full interior paint of all walls, doors and trim, a full guest bath remodel and some restoration o drywall after a a water leak. Communication throughout was good - no surprise, and the crew was always here when scheduled. I would recommend him, and will use him again only next project. Also, if you have pets, he and his crew were very kind and considerate to my elder cat, so I did not worry about leaving her alone with them during the day.

It was a pleasure to work with Bob and his team. Not only were they able to stay within budget, they suggested ideas to save money so that I could enhance the project in other areas. This renovation had a tight time table and the team was able to meet that which was very helpful. My experience with Affiliated Restoration Contracors was positive. I had a complete bathroom remodel this spring and was very pleased with the finished product. Everything was gutted and replaced except for the bathtub (which was refinished). The tradesmen were not only adept at their craft but also very punctual. The bathroom looks great and feels comfortable. Some of the new features include: LED lighting, new floor tiles, and shower tiling with built in recesses for soap and shampoo. Robert Kollath and his crew were professional, attentive, and easy to communicate with. I would recommend their services to others.

This is my first time using this company, and I couldn't be happier. We had our whole house resided and shingles replaced partially on our deck/house. It was usually one young man working on the house and occasionally another would join. It took a little over a week to complete. That was pretty fast considering rain and a holiday fell within that time. There was open communication between the worker and my husband and they always cleaned up at the end of the day. The house and the roof look fantastic. I highly recommend this company.

My experience with Robert Kollath and Affiliated Restoration Contracting was completely positive. My restaurant business suffered a fire loss in the middle of the 2017 Christmas holiday season. Robert Kollath oversaw the entire restoration process. He was able to come in on budget and meet the two week time line. I'm truly grateful they saved my business. I have contracted with this company many times for large and small jobs for my home. No matter the size of the job, I receive the same high quality customer service and workmanship I have come to depend on. Bob employs an impressive crew that is skilled in all areas of the contracting trade- carpenters, plumbers, heating and air, electricians, brick and mortar, and on and on. His crew is the only one I trust in and around my home when I am not there. They come on time, complete the job and leave the site clean. So far, I have had a basement remodel, bathroom fixture replacement, gutters, and a composite and cedar deck. The pricing is fair and Bob always considers the most economical approach to any job. He communicates with me throughout the job and is just a pleasant and professional person who is a pleasure to work with. It is so nice to work with a company that still considers the customer to be always right which I find refreshing.

I have used this contractor several times for both small and large renovation jobs. One thing that really impressed me is that I am treated with the same high level of customer service regardless of the job size. For the major jobs, Bob converted my unfinished and unused basement into this wonderful space for family and visiting friends. The must recent project was the renovation of my wood deck to a composite floor and beautiful cedar railing. I am now busy shopping for just the right furniture for it but I just love it, as do my two dogs as well!
Bob’s work crew is phenomenal. They come on time, do their work, and leave the work site clean. The crew is comprised of highly skilled electricians, carpenters, plumbers, you name it and Bob has someone on his team to provide top notch work. Also Bob is very accommodating and keeps the lines of communication open throughout the project. I always say at the end of each job “see you next project “. I would never use anyone else really. I trust his crew in and around my home when I am not there, and that says quite a bit!

Affiliated Restoration rebuilt my home after a fire. The basement re-model was completed on May 24th of 2018. We were extremely pleased with the outcome. The Affiliated Restoration crew exceeded our expectations with the quality of their work.
