Beautiful details, but after they take your money, they are "out". There were missteps done in the execution of the upgrades we paid over $30,000 cash up front for, and had I not gone to the house during the construction phase and acted almost as my own contractor, i would have ended up with the wrong cabinetry. They didn't want to believe me at first until I pointed it out on the plans, and even then they were not happy anout having to fix it and wondered if i would notice if they did a quick fix. I nipped that in the bud and made them fix it properly.
The site agent at Talon Landing could have cared less about customer service after the monetary transactions were finished, and the issues at move-in were compounded by the fact that none of the things pointed out during pre-closing walk-thru were taken care of before move-in day. No cleaning had been done, there was sawdust in the drawers and construction dust everywhere, the vents had never been vacuumed out, the water to the dishwasher had been turned off so the first loads were running dry and melted all my plasticware, as well as running so hot it was in danger if catching fire, and trying to get that replaced was a long drawn out process, not to mention there were random holes they made in the walls and instead of replacing the drywall, they covered them up with electrical plates. There were so many things that we ended up doing ourselves because the construction site manager ignored all communication until I went to tge office personally and spoke to the Vice President (who couldn't have been nicer).
The houses are beautiful, but you really need to pay attention to their care and consideration during the construction phase, as well as their follow thru. It almost takes the "shine off the penny" in terms of elation at moving into a new home. A year later, we are happy with our home, but I have been treated much better by my 2 previous builders and didn't have to work so hard at making sure thibgs were done correctly.
