Choosing Agua Pools and Spa was the one of the worst decisions of my life. I really did not want to go with them because of their poor reviews and ratings and "F" BBB rating. We contacted several other pool companies (Eagle, Superior) and due to high demand (Fall of 2021) they would not take our business. Now I see why, all reputable companies only take on projects that they can deliver. My wife convinced me to go with them since they did have some positive reviews (which I believe now are all fake).
Agua on the other hand was eager to accept the business. We worked with Bill Jolly (dishonest salesman) on the six figure pool design and after finalization he was completely non-existent. We had issues with them from the beginning of the process. They crushed the A/C line set during the excavation process. They charged us extra for micro dig and used large equipment anyway to do the work causing damage to the house and fence. For this they take no responsibility. Agua will not provide you with an itemized bill and will expect all payments to be payed on time. After the final payment is made, this is before the pool is even finished they will not complete any outstanding work.
Once Agua is paid in full they will abandon your projects and go work on the hundreds of pools they contract to build. You can read the owner gloat about how "successful" he is by the volume of business he does on BBB website. Having to deal with Randy Berner, owner, is a complete nightmare. He is just a nasty miserable human being. He has made several disgusting and derogatory towards me and my wife. He is a rude and completely unprofessional.
I ended up having to hire outside contractors to complete the equipment installation for the pool and SPA at my own personal expense. You would think that Randy would have the decency to refund my money for not providing all of the equipment and completing the work.
If you are looking at Agua to do any work be warned that you are going to be in for a painful process. Read the reviews and BBB rating on this joke of a company before making your final decision. Also, review your contract to make sure you DO NOT make the final payment before all of the work is done. They will abandon your job unfinished after getting paid in full. This is not a respectable nor professional company and they WILL NOT honor their contract. My advice if you love your house and want a pool that will last go with a reputable company even if you have to wait a few months longer.

This review is long overdue but I will try to save anyone from the nightmare of this pool company. The stress and disrespect is unfathomable. When I signed my contract in May 2020, I was told 8 weeks to completion. To date- the pool is not finished. They never marked the yard before digging and immediately tore up my exterior water lines and the electrical to the boat house. I called the office daily for 8 weeks and no one ever had an answer or returned my call. I held the deck payment by 4 days and finally received a call. When I paid the deck payment, Dan stated he only gave me a timeline to get my money. Again, the work stopped. The pool equipment was installed in the wrong location. The heater was installed backwards and has a huge gauge out of the side of it. There is a leaking pipe under the pool that he refuses to even assess. No silt fence so my yard eroded horribly in to the canal. No cement or foundation under the deck stairs which were thrown together and unusable. Refused to bring the yard to previous elevation despite it being required by the city.
Every single step of the process was met with aggravation. If you contact them regarding your project- expect to be cussed out and spoken to in an appalling way. If you hire them to do a pool- expect to have legal fees because you will need an attorney. Expect to be threatened with liens and foreclosures.
