Air an U Cool were pretty good. They replaced our 2 HVAC systems including ducts. The owner was able to come back to fix minor setup issues that are common with any HVAC install. Also, he took credit card payments, which enabled me to essentially get a no-interest loan for over a year on ~$17K. The only bad thing about Vixiene (the owner of U Cool Inc) was that he didn't communicate to me estimates on an HVAC project for my next house (I don't live at 2002 Crystal Ct. anymore). So, I went with Bodensteiner Service, and they were pretty good too--ask for Hank Bodensteiner. I've recommended both of these companies on Yelp.
The only thing with these HVAC service/installation companies (and many others) is that they don't do a proper load analysis of the building to size the condensers, furnace blower, etc. All they really do is look at the existing ones, and then make a justification (e.g., with square footage, or other rules of thumb) to determine the HVAC component sizes. Instead, the proper calculation is called "Manual J"--all HVAC contractors should know how to do this (it's an industry standard). It requires some software for them to do the calculation, so an HVAC contractor that does a proper Manual J calculation will be slightly more expensive, but in the long run, it's worth it. If the client is not going to be at the house long, then Cool It or Bodensteiner Service should be fine, but on my next HVAC purchase, I'm going to look around for someone who will do a Manual J calculation.
