By Nicole R.November 13, 2015AC zone control board$50030 dayswanna keep your broken stuff and lose your money?
Hired Air Boss to come fix my zone control board. After 3 seperate trips, many many many phone calls, my zone control is STILL NOT FIXED. Now I'm out the $500 that AIr Boss charged me, I also have to pay another company $1000 to fix what he messed up, AND the real issue. And Air Boss refuses to stand behind his work, refuses to fix the problem, and refuses to refund my money. Currently pursuing legal action against him. DO NOT HIRE!

By AnonymousJune 27, 2014A/C ServicePoor Service. Rude Owner/Service Guy
I live in a rental property and my air conditioning stopped working. I called my landlord at 2:30 pm on 6/26/2014 and he put in a service request to the home warranty company. The home warranty company put in a service request with "Air Boss" which turned out to be just some guy with a cell phone located in Merced. I live in Modesto which is 40 minutes away. He called me around 9am on Friday 6/27/14 and left a message stating he was calling about the air conditioning service. I called him back at 11:30am and told him my air conditioning wasn't working at all and I needed somebody asap. He responded that he was already back home in Merced and he couldn't do it today. I asked if he could do it on Saturday 6/28/14. He responded rudely that it would have to wait until Monday because "I don't work weekends just like everybody else". I then told him I work every weekend and I didn't feel he had very good customer service. He responded that if that is the way I feel he wasn't going to come to my house at all and to get somebody else and then hung up. It really surprises me in these hard economic times that service like this is still out there.

AHS send Air Boss to fix our heating system and he responded quickly, got our house heated up efficently. Our house needed ductwork that was not covered by our warranty so we hired Air Boss to do the job and he came back the next day and finished the job in 6 hours. We are pleased with the job he did and he takes pride in his work and has excellent work ethics. His prices are also very competitive.

I carried a home warranty with Old Republic. When my rooftop furnace/AC unit quit working Old Republic sent Air Boss out of Merced to my house. It was quickly determined that I needed a new unit. Air Boss installed the unit but it took several visits to get things completed. Lewis, the installer, was supposed to cap the old condensation drain line on the roof but never did. He also told me he would install a new thermostat for me. He never showed up. The unit started leaking water into my master bedroom. Lewis did come back to work on this but I never understood the reason it was leaking into my bedroom. Very suspicious. This last week I had the unit serviced by Wally Falke's in Turlock (GREAT company) to make sure that it is ready for the summer AC season. Turns out the install was NOT up to code. Several things were NOT done. NO permit was pulled for the job. I have contacted Air Boss via email and phone messages but I get NO response. DO NOT go with this company. You will be sorry and YOU will have to pay AGAIN to have the unit brought up to code. SHAMEFUL!! And OLD REPUBLIC HOME WARRANTY doesn't give a CRAP that they sent out a company with no regard to code. I called Old Republic this morning to see if I can go after Air Boss from their angle. The man I talked to has NO interest in the fact that Air Boss did shoddy work that is NOT up to code. Old Republic took my money for 10 years, that's over $4000, to send a company out to do shoddy, unprofessional work with no permit to ensure a professional job. STAY AWAY from Air Boss and Old Republic Home Warranty. They take your money and give you crappy work in return. I will now have to pay to have my unit brought to code. These businesses are terrible.
