Permits
- Building permit records show that Alh Home Renovations LLC has worked on 71 permitted projects.
ALH Home Renovations (Allen Harris), Roeland Park, Kansas, did a complete remodel on our kitchen. Total cost was over $50,000.
Positives:
Our lead carpenter was reliable and responsive. Subcontractors promptly showed up on the days they were scheduled to work.
Negatives:
ALH constantly charged us thousands of additional dollars for work they did and for items they installed. When we asked ALH about these extra costs, ALH responded that they inadvertently omitted the cost of those items from the contract.
ALH installed items that did not meet manufacturer’s instructions. Also, ALH installed items that were out of tolerance and ALH installed items that were not coordinated with other features. Many times, it took a lot of our time and energy to convince ALH that there was a problem. ALH refused to correct several items they failed to coordinate.
At the end of the project, we gave ALH a list of questions/issues/concerns. For example: we asked them why they charged us additional money for 4 or 5 different items; we asked them to review 2 or 3 items we believed we were double charged; and we asked them to correct items they failed to coordinate. ALH refused to answer any of our questions or discuss any of these concerns.
At our one year warranty meeting, we identified several warranty issues that ALH refused to fix or address.
