Beware if this company! I made the mistake of hiring them. It turned into a year and a half long fiasco. They took my deposit and said that they'd be getting the permits and get back to me within two weeks. After a month, I finally called them. They showed up, no materials at all. After three more days of excuses they finally showed with materials. No permits! When I asked about the permits the owner said that he'd applied for them but that I didn't need to have them displayed. They started working anyway. I ended up calling the city permit office only to find out that the permits had never been applied for and that they were considered doing work now illegally. I told them to get off of my house and that the code enforcement was on their way. He apparently went that day to apply for the permit. He tried to come back and resume work with merely the application number. I told him not to come back until he had the permit and it was ready to go onto my front window as it should have been in the first place. That took a week because the city fined him for starting work without a permit. Permit finally came, they installed the upper shutters, but when it came to my patio he apparently didn't remember his own notes. He brought shutters to be installed at the sliding door. I had made it clear that I wanted them out along the screen so I didn't have to.carry patio furniture in. Instead of installing corrected shutters, he installed the shutters backwards. They didn't pass inspection. It took the code office and I six months or more to get him out to look at his mistake. He agreed in front of the city inspector that they were backwards. He told him that they would be taken out and installed correctly. He reused screws that were rusted and installed them while chipping tiles. Not to mention that the drainage holes he'd promised were never installed. He was supposed to call for re-inspection. When he didnt, I ended up having to call to have them come out. That was such a sloppy job that I had to pay another contractor to fix. I ended up having to pay to have two entirely new sets of shutters installed to replace the shoddy work he'd done on the patio and to correct mis-measurement of an upstairs window. Not to mention having to pay to have the concrete and stucco around the window fixed from where he had cracked it. If anyone would ever hire this company, they'd have to be desperate or out of their minds. Any contractor who is going to lie about permits right off the bat, is bad news. This guy certainly was!
