    Ac repair
    $2,500

BEWARE of this company- they seem nice but once they came out to diagnose my AC i never heard from them again unless I phoned them and they felt like answering the phone. Waited patiently for 2 1/2 months for the unit on “back order”.. actually I think they never ordered it. Feel like this company only wants to collect the home warranty service fee and leave customers hanging. They deserve to be out of business!!!

    HVAC

While Kim was helpful and Gary and Jeff tried to fix the problem, they've proved over 2 1/2 months that they did not know how to fix my air conditioning problem. It worked and then didn't work time and time again. They tried to fix a leak and putting in refrigerant, they put in a new compressor and that didn't work, after that they refused to return my phone calls. The home warranty company sent out a technician from another company and they diagnosed a completely different problem. I ended up calling a local HVAC company and the problem was fixed in 2 hours, not 2 1/2 months. I have been without air conditioning for the last three weeks and it was on and off all summer. That is ridiculous for an area like Williamsburg. I would not ever use All-Pro Home Solutions again and I'm not hesitant to tell the same to my neighbors!

    Air conditioning

After reading some of these reviews I admit I was nervous, but the technician (Gary) arrived and diagnosed my system I was very pleased. There were multiple leaks in my system. He called the warranty company from my house and explained everything to me in detail about how the process works. Come to find out the warranty company actually ordered the equipment. After a week I called the warranty company and they said they were waiting on the service report, as I said earlier, he called it in from my driveway. I have learned that most warranty companies blame the service company so we don't get mad at them, neither here nor there, I called Gary and he "called the warranty company" and within a week my system was replaced. Great company and great people. I highly recommend

Complete waste of time. Technician not qualified to work on hvac.

Kim, the dispatch person, had excellent communication skills and kept me fully updated about the appointment and delays all the way through. The technician dispatched by company was the owner, Gary. He arrived a day late, for starters. Moving past that aspect. Gary was pleasant enough, as was his helper. My first concern on being assigned this service provider by our home warranty provider is that they are in the disparate businesses of HVAC, termites, pest control, and understructure repairs. I’ve never seen such a motley collection of business services under one roof.

To the issue at hand. System would not turn on the compressor / condenser outside, but was running the air handler inside without stopping, even when switched to off. Gary checked the system pressures and reported that the high side was around “600” with some alarm and when asked what it should be he said in the “400” range. He took some notes/picture, made some calls, came back to the outside unit. At that point he manually operated the contactor and kicked the compressor on. He said that it had fixed itself. I told him I would check for cooling inside. He told me that it would not immediately cool. This was my second warning sign that he might not be qualified. Of course an hvac unit will immediately cool the air coming from the register. He also said that this was especially true because it was r410 refrigerant. I corrected him and shared that the air from the registers is immediately cold (as all a/c systems are) when they are functioning properly and they start up fully, as has been my experience with this system for many years, all of which it has operated with r410 refrigerant. Maybe if you had a 200 ft duct this would be an issue, but in my case the registers were from 5 to 20 feet from the air handler.

Next he stated “might be the thermostat”, and I don’t disagree. Might be. But after some silence I was forced to ask, what’s the next step in getting things fixed? That led us inside to the air handler, evaporator, etc. After some initial review of the system, he requested power be cut at the fuse panel, and removed the panel door from the furnace / air handler. He did something inside and asked his helper to go see if the system had kicked on outside. It had not. He again suggested it might be the thermostat. Ok, again, I don’t disagree, but we certainly have to trouble shoot this to a solution. . . .

I suggested he bypass the thermostat and see if removing that from the equation would solve the issue. He looked utterly stumped by this idea. He told me it was dangerous and could short out the control panel. He also said he didn’t understand how it would work (I kid you not.) This was my third indication that this person was not qualified to work on hvac. I patiently explained that a thermostat was merely a way to connect the wires running to it via internal switching, so connecting the wires manually was no different. This left us with another silence and a grim look on Gary’s face. I then suggested he just put the wires back into the appropriate stat connections if he didn’t feel comfortable executing a bypass. He did and then packed up to leave. Shocker. Seriously.

I asked if he was really leaving and he said yes, but he wasn’t charging me. I explained it was nevertheless an utter waste of time for me to wait several days for this day late appointment. I also shared that I didn’t think he was qualified to work on HVAC systems. End of story; they quietly left.

It’s pretty simple after all. A thermostat sends a signal to a control board, which then starts the necessary components such as air handler, compressor, furnace, etc. using low voltage wiring. If the compressor is not starting it’s the stat, the control board, the wiring, or some failure at the compressor unit itself. They got the compressor to start by bypassing the contactor already. So I took the stat wiring apart myself and did the bypass routine to see if I could troubleshoot further. I cannot get the compressor to start, so I think it’s the control unit, not the stat. But so what? I can’t order a new one and I’m on to the next service provider. Hopefully they can do some basic troubleshooting to see which part of the system is keeping the compressor from starting.

Avoid at all costs and engage them only at your own risk and peril.

    Heater/Furnace replacement

We came across Gary and Shane of All Pro by accident; but boy, are we glad we did. We had just bought a house when the gas heater/furnace bit the dust and we were lucky enough to find it was covered by the seller's home warranty company (HWA).

We were aware of how long it takes these warranty companies to follow through on their obligations (time delays are never the service company's fault ;-) but HWA had a brand new Lennox heater/furnace at their chosen service company, All Pro Home Solutions, within a week and Gary and Shane were at our house 2 days later to remove the old unit (15 years old) and install the new one - which was a fantastic upgrade, by the way.

Gary and Shane were both professional and friendly; it was great having them here to do what they do so well. And not only will we go straight to them for any future service/restorations we need to have done on our new, 67 year old house, we will be recommending them to all of our friends, family and workmates.

No matter if it takes a few weeks for a warranty company to provide them with the equipment/parts they require, or if you need them to come to you right away, you will not regret their extremely reasonable costs compared to other companies; their expertise and advice; and their good old-fashioned neighborly way they approach relationships with their clients.

    HVAC Service

I literally had the same experience. My home warranty company sent these people to my rental property and they diagnosed a bad compressor. They order the wrong part. They lied at every opportunity. They tried to overcharge me by almost $500 by claiming my HVAC unit had a different type of refrigerant than it actually uses. They did not return calls. The service call was made at the end of July. On October 17, the compressor has allegedly been fixed. This is not a legitimate company and I highly recommend you steer clear of them. They are incompetent and are unqualified to do what they are allegedly doing. I am reporting them to the BBB and the the state and local contracting agencies.

My experience with this vendor was similar. In the 2nd week of July, my heat pump went out; my homeowner's insurance put out a call to All Pro Home Solutions. Next day (which I appreciated) I was informed by their tech that my heat pump had a bad compressor. After paying the deductible required by my insurance, he informed me that it could be up to a week to receive the part. After nearly 6 weeks, numerous calls to this vendor (only one returned) and two A/C window unit purchases later, I came to the conclusion that this company was either a sham or a scam. Either way, my insurance carrier assigned me to another company (Precision Heating and Air). Their tech's cursory evaluation of my unit was that it may not be the compressor. Turns out that it was the capacitor that was bad. He went to his truck, retrieved a capacitor, replaced it and 20 minutes later my house was cooling. Needless to say, I was thrilled. Not sure what to believe of All Pro Home Solutions, and I never want to assume the worst; however the only 2 things I can glean from the experience is either gross incompetence or a money grab. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

    35 days

I have AHS and on July 4, 2016, my AC stopped working, the wrong compressor was ordered wrong twice. Hopefully, the correct part arrived this past Tuesday (All Pro didn't know it came in) and now I have to wait until Aug 17th for it to be installed. No AC for over a month. I will not recommend them to anyone. When I tried calling information they have no listing for them and the person's name is not is listed. Now I'm calling the Commonwealth of VA to get some answers.
