The most unethical contractor I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Started my project, demanded additional unscheduled draws (up to $10K) and then walked off the job when it was 1/2 done with my money and left a lockbox on my front door that I didn't have access to. He also took a deposit a few thousand dollars for a subcontracted piece of work that he never passed on and the work wasn't completed. He won't return messages or have any rational discussion around finishing my project.

Our experience with Allen Hatch as a contractor (A & D Carpentry) started out great and ended up taking 6 months with him bailing on his contract leaving us with a pile of unfinished projects which we're still dealing with. He's a great talker but a lousy communicator and even worse at overseeing what his team of workers is doing. He made so many promises he didn't keep, then on top of that, we had to deal with constant delays. Later we found out he was juggling 18 to 25+ jobs at any one time. If we had known that from the start, we would never have signed on with him has a contractor in the first place. Allen tried to blame his unfinished business on us as a way of getting out of his contract...guess that's how he's able to live with what he does. He didn't show up at our house even once during the last month (the 6th month of what should have been a 3-month max job) to see what was actually going on. We have everything documented for legal purposes but the greater truth is BEWARE and DON'T GO THERE!
