Run as fast as you can from this guy. Do NOT let him manage your money or pay vendors, subs etc. Pay them directly yourself. Some of the subs he hires are shady at best, drug users, not licensed. Some are OK but my house had terrible framing, drywall needed 100 repairs ( not all nail pops) some major repair. Crawl space is a joke. Paint needed redone at 2 years old inside and out, with some bare wood visible. Cabinets throughout the house poorly installed. Every counter and vanity pulling away from the wall(s) Floating hardwood floor was installed so bad the seams at each joint are raised up and look awful. Trim inside pulling away from the walls and miters a 4 year old could do better. Much more, to list but I'm weary. Finally, agree to a set price, or he won't come back to preform warranty work. Cost plus lets him ask for money at the end when he realizes his subs did such bad work he knows he's going to need more to cover their poor installations. Get a firm bid, hold him to it, otherwise he'll threaten with a lawyer.
