Aloha Fence and Deck started building my deck several weeks ago and made some mistakes that were either shoddy work or definitely violations of building code. All I wanted was to get them taken care of now so when they were done, they wouldn't have to tear anything apart to fix problems. The earlier you fix a problem the easier it is to fix. They fixed some easy ones like nails in the rim joist that missed the joist and stuck out. But when I pointed out harder problems like they cut 3 joists off just short of the beam that should support them and that two beam spans were too short (they used one post instead of two), they just came over one morning, said they were done, and cleared out. They abandoned the job leaving an unfinished deck in my backyard. I'm working on the CCB complaint now. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.
